Ava Paige had pulled her children from the safety of their building for the day, showing them that there are people that need their help. The two children, Rosa and Nick, sat on the train full of children and WICKED guards.
Rosa kept her eyes on the young boy opposite her, his worried face, watery eyes, hazel hair. He looked terrified, even so, that her mother, who never even showed affection to her own children, put her hand on his shoulder to tell him it was okay. But Thomas moved away, cowering from the woman that had taken him from his mother.
Ava Paige looked down, her face hardening back into the same frown that it always carried. Rosa let go of her younger brother's hand and walked over to the new boy, taking a seat next to him. Thomas started to cry, the girl pulling him into a tight hug as he sobbed into her shoulder.
As if by magic, when Rosa blinked, she was no longer on the train. Her eyes opened quickly, a blue liquid surrounding her. She tried to scream, banging on the glass tube that held her body. Through the glass, she could see her mother jotting down notes, not even showing any remorse or sympathy.
All she wanted to do was cough as the blue liquid filled her lungs, her eyes falling shut again weakly as her whole body shook several times before going completely limp. Only then did her mother looks up, meeting Teresa's worried eyes before shaking her head and exiting the room, the glass door sealing shut behind her.
"Rosa! We have to go!" Newt shouted, jolting her awake from her nightmare, her face dripping with sweat as her body tried to fight off an infection that could be caused by her wound, she let her dazed eyes fall shut once more before Thomas pulled her up, making her let out a loud wince of pain.
