CASE NO. 3: The Poor Children (Drabble)

Today, she was apparently dead but certainly not at an end.

The morning paper's obituary read the death of detective Aideen Benoist. However, just outside her room, someone uttered, "Benoist?" suggesting her anything but.

Someone entered and snatched the paper from her. "Get back, where'd you get this?"

"I'm not dead! The children need--"

"Get back!" he shouted, shutting the door.

"The children!" she cried out. "I need to find out who killed the poor children!"

The nurse scowled at her from the door window and said, "She did find out...

"but how have you managed to kill her, too?"
