Charlie's POV

I walked into English about five minutes early per usual. I looked around the all too familiar classroom and groaned. Time to go through yet another year of Mr. Gibbon talking about how the ending of Romeo and Juliet should be something different.

He has told us the same thing since freshman year.

I sat in my normal spot in the very back, well one row up from the back because it was closest to the window. Students started piling into the classroom as the first bell had rung. Although I never paid attention to the students because I basically only had two friends. Mike and Laura have been my best friends since 6th grade.

Other than them I have no one. People stopped talking to me after Justin and his friends began saying things about me. Everyone turned against me and took his side. After everything was said and done only Justin and his friends make fun of me and no one else. I've just learned to deal with it over the years.

Although they may not like me, the occasional parties that my friends throw for me always has a good turn out. What teenagers would turn down some alcohol anyway.

As the lesson started I tuned Mr. Gibbon out. I just stared out the window. It was a habit of mine. Maybe it was because I wished to be outside of the building yet instead I'm stuck in here.

I tuned back into the class hoping I would learn something but I just got bored almost instantly so I began scribbling things onto my paper. After I had finished drawing my small flower the door to the classroom busted open. My gaze lifted but I wish it hadn't.

Jacob's eyes scanned the classroom as he walked in. They zeroed in on the only open space in the classroom, the spot behind mine.

He ignored Mr. Gibbon who had questioned why he was late and took his seat behind me. I could feel his gaze on me slightly but I ignored it and began drawing again. I could feel Jacob's gaze leave the back of my head halfway through the class. I'm just going to focus on my drawing though.

I'm gonna draw a cookie. Ohh a cookie sounds really good right now. Like a soft oatmeal raisin cookie. Dang, I just made myself hungry.

After class Jacob was the first one to leave. For being in the very back of the class he left quite quickly. My eyes couldn't help but follow him though.

Off to chemistry, I guess. I followed the sea of students through the halls making my way to my next class. We all piled into the room while the teacher was nowhere to be seen.

I took a seat next to Mike who looked bored while scrolling through his phone. His attention was brought up to me by the noise of my bag hitting the hair. His bored expression instantly turned into a large smile.

"Hey, beautiful!" He exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and sat down.

"It's only the first day of school and I already want it to end," I said crossing my arms in front of me. He let out a laugh and nodded, agreeing.

"Have fun in Chadson's class. He gives out two pages of work." He said looking down at his History book. I groaned and hit my head on the table.

"So how long did Gibbon talk about Romeo and Juliet, and how the ending should have been different." He asked. I rolled my eyes.

"I actually thought we were going to have a normal hour with him because he actually started teaching but then at the end he wouldn't stop talking about it." I rubbed the bridge of my nose trying to get the memory out of my head. Mike just let out a loud laugh.

Our teacher, who Mike and I have called Moody Judy, walked in. Mrs. Judy is literally the spawn of satan when it comes to school.

If you turn your homework in even a minute late you get half points off. If you ask to go to the bathroom 90% of the time she won't let you go. She scared a freshman once so bad that he peed his pants. He was known as pee boy until the end of his sophomore year.

I may be in the shadows but being a senior at my high school makes it so I know everything that happens here.

After a few more classes I stopped at my locker to put all of my stuff away for lunch. I walked down the hall, my finger trailing along the indent between the bricks. I hummed a song that I listened to on the radio softly.

As I walked down the hall by my locker, my arm was grabbed. I was pulled into a dark room. A scream instantly left my mouth. Just as quick as I screamed a hand came over my mouth, muffling the scream.

A light was flicked on and I came face to face with Jacob Sinclair. My eyes widened and I began struggling against his hand.

This is it, this is when he is going to kill me. I am too young to die. I wanted to go to Harvard and become a lawyer. Plus I didn't even get to eat the cosmic brownie in my lunch, and man did I want that brownie.

So I did what any normal human would think of doing. I bit down on his hand. Instantly the hand was pulled off my mouth.

"Holy shit, did you just bite me?" Jacob said glaring at me.

"I hope you mean holy cheeseballs," I said crossing my arms. He raised an eyebrow.

"Cheeseballs? What are you, five?" He questioned. I tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear and nodded.

"I like food and I'm hungry. It just made sense at the time." I said huffing. He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. Once again glaring at me.

"If you are going to kill me at least let me eat my cosmic brownie first," I said with a straight face. Once again he just rolled his eyes.

"What is up with you and food? Chill though, I'm not going to kill you." He said after a few moments of silence. I shrugged. By how much I eat you would think I was fat, I honestly wasn't. I mean I am not in the greatest of shape but I'm not fat.

"So why did you pull me in here?" I questioned. Suddenly his face went blank, almost serious.

"You can not tell anyone about what you saw last night. Not a single person. Not like anyone would do anything, but people don't need to know my business." He said darkly. If this were any other person I bet they would have been scared but honestly, I wasn't scared.

Then his gaze shifted down to my wrist. I followed his gaze to my mother's bracelet. The bracelet had small diamond gems hanging down from it. I smiled looking at it.

My mother is someone who is very important to me. She is the only person in the world who actually understands the pain I am going through with bullying. My mother has stage 2 breast cancer. She pretty much lives in her bedroom at the hospital. She is my best friend and if I lost her I would lose myself completely.

Jacob reached out and grabbed my wrist examining the bracelet further. Then he dropped my wrist.

"It's pretty." He mumbled. I blushed slightly and smiled at him.

"Thank you. It is my mom's." I spoke, wait why did I tell him that. He didn't need to know that.

Jacob gave me a quick nod before he looked over me once again. With a small nod to himself, he exited the room and shut the light off.

My nerves are so high and my heart is beating so fast that I lost my appetite and don't want to eat my cosmic brownie. I just wanted my brownie.

So for the people who have read my story before this is a new Authors Note. I have never read August!!! I am tired of explaining this over and over again so I am putting this at the end of the chapter now. I constantly get comments comparing this book with that one and if it is similar then I apologize, I wouldn't know because I have never read it. I have rewritten chapters so it isn't similar to your guy's liking but I am sorry that I am not going to change how my book is based on a story I've never read.

I would also like to point out that this is Wattpad. So many stories on this app are similar that it would be impossible to have your own completely original content. Especially mafia books. I don't mean to call anyone out but I just wanted to say this. I don't mean to 'steal' anything but there really isn't anything else I can do. I'm sorry.
