You were silently standing there fumbling with your hands while scrambling for words
"But..uhh.. That was along time ago.." You said softly
"I know, but after I came back, a couple days later you acted the same as before when we first met" he spoke
"In the hospital?" You asked
"No silly, in jami-uhh yeah the hospital" jack said nervously rubbing his neck
"It's fine..that night was the actual first day we met although I don't want to remember it" you said hugging your arms
"And why's that?" He asked
"I mean why would I remember the night I met a winter spirit, got scared and fell down a flight of ten stairs?" you asked a little embarrassed when Jack gave a little laugh
"Oh right, but if it wasn't because of that...fall..we wouldn't have most likely been talking to each other ever since" Jack spoke
"Which is the point" you spoke up when he looked at you confused
"The point about what?" He asked
"You think out of all living humans in the world I had to end up literally falling for a winter spirit who died causing nobody to see him unless they believe? I can't believe of all people I could have a crush on, it had to be-"
"Me?" Jack asked when his voice cracked
"I mean yeah, it's not a bad thing, it's more like a coincidence that back then I had to fall for you compared to people who were alive" you said stepping closer to him
"If it's not a bad thing then why are you keep saying that you wish you never met me and even had to chose me to even start a family?" He asked when Eva looked over
"Mommy? Did you hurt daddy's feelings?" Eva asked
"No.. No sweetie, we are just talking about something emotional, you'll understand as you'll get older" you said when you pulled Jack out of the living room and into the kitchen to have a bit more privacy
"Look Jack, it's like I said back then, I couldn't help what I was saying, I did warn you that I get easily jealous and apparently you didn't listen, there were things I said that I said I meant it but i've always regretted saying them after the argument is over, my mom was right, I guess I am just so stubborn just like my dad" you said when you closed your eyes and sighed leaving silence in the room when all of a sudden you felt something cold against your cheek
"Jack what are you-"
"Shhh, I understand.. I knew you couldn't help it, but I guess I also get very emotional easily" he said softly when you looked at him
"Jack..i'm so sorry for everything, and everytime we just push it aside and try again only causing us to get into more trouble" you said
"I know, but this time we can actually talk things out and understand each other like what we're doing right now"
"This time?" You asked confused
"Well...t mean...if you wa-" he stopped when you hugged him
"How come after all these fights and arguments you still come back willing to give another chance?" You asked
"That's because I know that at the end of the road, all of those times you forgive and try again it will pay off with a great price" he whispered hugging you back when Eva came into the kitchen
"Can I join the group hug?" Eva asked causing you and Jack to laugh
"Of course you can" you said dropping to the floor with Jack and holding your arm out when she ran and joined the hug
"I love hugs" Eva said
"We do too" Jack's said softly
"So..can daddy stay with us now?" Eva said breaking the awkwardness while you silently stared at Jack
"I mean..if he wants too.." You said when you and Eva both looked back at Jack with pleading eyes
"Oh you gotta be kidding me...don't stare at me like that, it's not gonna work" Jack said crossing his arms
"Pleaseeee?" You and Eva pleaded in unison
"No" he answered
"You'll get your own room" you said aloud
"And you can decorate it!" Eva shouted
"Still" he spoke
"You'll get to see Eva everyday compared to every other day" you said when he sighed
"Okay fine, just for Eva" Jack sighed when you and Eva cheered and clapped each others hands
"We love you!" You shouted throwing your arms around him while Eva hugged his waist
"I pretty much know that already" he sighed as you, Jack and Eva headed off to the workshop and tell North the news
