"You're sure?" He asked, for what had to be the sixth time. I giggled
"Yes, I'm 100% sure" I told him
"Okay, I just don't want you to regret this" he sighed, then added quickly "I'll make sure you won't"
"You better" I told him playfully, trying my best to hide my smile as I put my hands on my hips and glared. He chucked and reached for my hand, holding it tight
"I promise, I'll never do that again" he shook his head and gave my hand a squeeze
"You better not Fitzroy Avery Vacker" I said, finally letting the pull of my smile win
"Oooh, the full name, I'm in trouble now" he said, lightly laughing under his breath
"Okay, enough with the apologies and sappy shit. The gang is going out in a half hour, so you coming or not?" I asked him
"Of course. But, one question... is Keefe gonna be there?" He asked
"Yup. And you better be nice, he's getting along great with everyone. You start trouble and you're out on your own again, you hear?" I told him, really hoping he'd actually listen to me for once
"Yes ma'am!" He dropped my hand and saluted, his back as straight as a board. I fought back another giggle
"Okay, see you then. I have to go get ready"

I hopped out of Fitzs car and into the hot sun of California. I put a hand to my forehead to try and block the glare from the sun beating down on us, looking for Biana and Dex. Bi said they were already there, sitting outside, to the right near the front of the patio. Once I finally had eyes on them, I waved my hands over my head, trying to get their attention. As Biana finally looked our way, I felt Fitz put a hand on my shoulder
"Found them?" He asked. I nodded, pointing in the direction of our table. I looked back to Keefe, his eyes narrowed right behind me. I shook my head and walked over, really really hoping that all of us can have a nice lunch together.
"Hey!" Biana got up as she said it, wrapping her arms around my neck and hugging me like we don't literally live together.
"Hey," Dex waved from the table, and I noticed that his button up matched Bianas flowing sundress perfectly. After Biana finally released me from her vice like grip, I felt another pair of arms wrap around me from behind. I turned around, slightly confused
"Oh! Hey, Keefe" I wrapped my arms around him, letting my head rest on his shoulder. Without meaning to I take a deep breath in, the light sent of something smoky and tangy meeting my nose.
"Don't worry, I made sure Fitz will play nice today" I whispered into his ear.
"Good" he whispered back,  "Nice braids" he said louder, so everyone could hear as he pulled back, gently tugging on one of the French braids that where hanging on my shoulders
"Thanks" I blush, and I could feel all the eyes of our friends on us, their thoughts almost broadcasting at me. Biana telling me how cute we are, Dex wanting to roll his eyes, and Fitz telling me how stupid this all is. I ignored it and took a seat next to Biana, Fitz claiming the one in my other side. As Keefe settled down across from me, I felt the two boys glaring at each other. I cleared my throat.
"So, does everyone know what they want?" I know everyone does, since we come here so often, but it at least put some ease on the obvious tension surrounding the table.
"You know me, I'm a sucker for chicken strips" Biana says, ever the picky eater of the group
"And I always go for the burger" Dex adds
"Same here" Fitz agrees. They have a really similar taste
"I think I'll go for a BLT. What about you, Soph?" Keefe asked.
"Oh, I'll probably just get some fries and a shake, not too hungry today" I tell them "and I might steal some food from bi, of course" I add, getting a laugh from the group. We sit around for a couple more minutes, trying to strike up some conversation. Finally the waiter comes, and we all order.  The restaurant isn't too crowded, so we get our food fast.
"What are you doing!?" Dex asked me, looking like I murdered someone
"....eating?" I guessed, confused on what I could have done to make him look that appalled
"You.... you dip your fries in milkshake?" He asked me
"Uh, yeah, it's good. Sweet and salty, you know" I pop another one into my mouth, content at the flavors of chocolate milkshake and a salty fry that swirl around
"Wow, okay, weirdo. That sounds awful" Dex looked away, taking another bite of burger
"How long have you know me? How have you not noticed I do this?" I asked him
"I don't know! I guess I'm not a creep who stares at you while you eat, unlike some of us" he said, not-so-subtly kicking Fitz under the table
"Ow! Hey, I do not!" He defended himself, leaning over to rub his shin. Keefe and Biana snorted, but didn't say anything. I blushed, but moved on
"Well, you should try it, its good" I tell him, continuing to eat
"Sure, I'll do that sometime" Dex told me, rolling his eyes and eating as well. After that, we all settled into a light and comfortable chatter, having fun for the rest of the time.
