First night {Chapter #5}

So guys! This is my first time writing on my phone at 1am so I apologize for the typos and horrible grammar ;)

I carefully grasped the side of the cart as I hopped down onto the cold grassy floor, the cool night wind whipped across my face. I brushed the loose strands of brown locks off my face and glanced at the illuminated cabin in front of me.

"Uh... excuse me?" I mumbled under my breath.

"Yes cadet?"

"Where am I supposed to go?"

The man shrugged his shoulders and draped his garrisons cape over his back, "look kid, all I'm gonna do is report you to Shadis. The rest is for you to figure out."

I nodded my head and waved him goodbye as he whipped the rains against the horse's backsides and drove off, leaving a cloud of dirt to puff up into the air.

"Pppfffttttt"

I blew the dust off my face

"Well... I suppose I'll just head for the cabin"

I dragged my tired feet over towards the wooden house, I could hear the chattering of people yet I couldn't make out what they were saying, I also heard the distant clattering of spoons and bowls, that must mean its the dining hall!? Right?

I tugged on my cadet jacket to move it in place and I dusted my whites jeans briefly, checking for dust or any other things that managed to stick on from the farm.

I opened the door quietly, trying not to make a sound, the rusty hinge made a loud and painful screech as I opened it fully and I swore under my breath as I cringed, giving the door a fierce glare, I walked towards the food counter.

I could feel one thousand eyes burning the back of my head, judging me, thinking of me. The whole room grew quiet as I picked up my food and walked around looking for a place to sit.

As I walked I could still feel them looking at me, and to be honest I was not in the best mood.

"What the fuck are you looking at? Never seen a human before?"

Wow, GREAT job Mira, way to go with first impressions huh?

I think I got my point across because they all stopped staring at me and went back to eating their food and chattering away about the new gear or whether they would pass or not,

Pathetic.

Why would they join if they doubt them self's!? This place is for the willing and the full hearted, not for the weak and cowardly!

My tired blue orbs scanned the crowd for a possible place to sit, finally I spotted one, it was the one nearest the back door,

I trudged there slowing, dragging my boots with me.

"This spot taken?"

I looked down at the boy sitting below me, his eyes where like a clear day, blue and bright. His hair was cut so that he had a small straight fringe, the colour, blonde. Basic sum up, he was a bright kid who was loyal to his friends. Probably.

He shook his head, "feel free to sit!"

I nodded as a way of saying thank you.

I noticed that there were two other people sitting in front of the blonde, a stern looking girl with glossy black hair and a brunette with teal green eyes.

I set my tray down and plopped myself next to the blonde.

We ate in silence for a couple of minutes until blonde piped up and spoke, "Hey? So uh... I'm Armin!" He said cheerfully holding out his outstretched hand and beaming at me,
