Evelyn ~ 14

Grayson ~ 41

Y/n ~ 40

The front door opened and slammed shut.

"Evelyn must be home" I smiled at my loving husband who was cuddling me on the couch "hi sweetie, how was school?" I said glancing over my shoulder

She didn't respond. She just went upstairs and shut her bedroom door.

"That was rude" Grayson scoffed "what's up with her? She's been like that for the past month" he spoke slightly angry

"I don't know but i'm worried" I bit my lip "I'm gonna go speak to her" I stood up and left the living room

I walked up the stairs a little mad at her rude entry. I approached her room but stopped when I heard small cries. My anger went away and I was now worried. I knocked on her door, no answer. I opened the door anyway and didn't see her anywhere. I stepped inside her room and noticed the cries were coming from her bathroom. I knocked on the bathroom door

"Go away" I heard her say through sniffles

My heart broke

"Baby, is everything okay? You seemed upse-

"I'm fine, just go away Mom!"

I sighed "I love you. I'm here to help yo-

"Shut up! Just leave me alone!.....please"

I sighed once again before turning around and leaving her room. I walked back downstairs and into the living room. Grayson looked up at me and frowned

"How'd it go?"

"Awful. She won't talk to me. She listens to you Grayson, she's a daddy's girl. Can you go speak to her? Something wrong. I know there is"

"Of course" he stood up and walked towards me. He kissed my cheek "don't worry, love"

And with that, he left to venture upstairs

Grayson's p.o.v

I entered Evelyn's room to the sound of her cries becoming louder. I knocked on her bathroom door

"Mom! I told you to leave me alone!" She yelled from inside the bathroom

"Evelyn, Sweetie, it's your Dad. Can you come out so we can talk about this?"

She was silent for a moment

"Evelyn?"

The door clicked and opened slowly. Her eyes were red and puffy and her face was blotchy.

"There's nothing really to talk about" she whispered as she looked down at her feet and played with her fingers

"Then why is your mother telling me that she's worried about you?"

"She's worried about me?" She asked quieter than a whisper

I bent down on one knee so I was at her level "of course she's worried about you, Evelyn" my voice had a slight laugh to it "Do you think she doesn't?"

"I don't know" she mumbled

I sighed "Come on, we need to talk" I stood up and grabbed her hand. I pulled her towards her bed and sat her down on the edge of her mattress. I sat next to her and tucked a piece of hair behind her hair. She sniffled and wiped her nose with the back of her hand.

"Evelyn, how was school today?"

"Fine" she mumbled

"Baby, what happened at school?"

"Nothi-

"Evelyn" I cut her off "I'm your father. I know when somethings wrong. You've been acting different lately and I want to know why. I'm only here to help you. I won't be mad, I won't yell. Just tell me what's been happening at school"

A tear rolled down her cheek, her hands rested in her lap. She sighed "everyone hates me" she whispered "there's this boy that I really like and I overheard him telling his friends about how much of a loser I am, how fat I am, how my clothes are ugly, how I should just stay at home cause no one wants to look at me. He ended up telling everyone in my year and now no one likes me. All my friends have left me and no one talks to me anymore. They all call me names and make fun of me. I sit alone at lunch because who wants to sit next to a fat loser like me"

Her words broke my heart

I was now in front of her holding her thighs and looking at her face "Evelyn, don't you ever say that about yourself. You are an amazing girl. You're so beautiful. Sweetie, if people can't see how much of an outstandingly wonderful girl you are then screw em'. Eve, your 14. You're young and you're changing. You're growing into a fine young lady and you don't need these negative people in your life. The ones who see you for you and don't believe the lies that people are saying are the real ones".

Her face still hung low and she was still crying

"Baby, look at me, let me see that pretty face"

She lifted her head up and looked at me

"There it is" I grinned "now where's that smile?"

She shook her head slightly

"Come on, let me see your beautiful smile"

A tiny smile pricked her lips and a small ray of happiness twinkled in her eyes

"There it is!" I picked her up over my shoulder and ran around her room cheering and yelling. I heard her laughing and felt her hit my back over and over again. I dropped her onto the bed and smiled at her

"Jesus Christ Dad, I'm not five" she giggled

"You'll always be my little princess, Evelyn"

She blushed and smiled at me "thanks Dad, for everything"

"It's what I'm here for, I am a Dad, right?" I chuckled

She got off the bed and hugged me "I love you"

"I love you more"

She pulled back and wiped her eyes

"Come on, let's go see your Mom"

"Yeah, I should probably say sorry" she looked guilty

"Nah, she just wants you to talk to her, not apologise"

She looked down and thought for a moment. She glanced up at me. I winked at her and she smiled. We both left the room and walked down the stairs and back into the living room.

Father and daughter goals.

I actually liked this one ngl
