「 chapter five」

Sasuke's blood ran cold as he froze.

Wouldn't there be no Konoha? 

If they attempted the coup d'etat, wouldn't they have died either way, considering it would be the Uchiha against all the clans in Konoha?

If they attempted it, wouldn't it lead to a war in Konoha? 


There had been a Sound-Sand invasion during the Chunin exam. They had attempted to erase Konoha off the map entirely. If Konoha was weakened by a war, wouldn't it be easier for them to eliminate Konoha?

If the Sound-Sand joined, wouldn't other villages join as well? Konoha was the most powerful village, as it held the Hyuga, Senju, and Uchiha clan, along with Naruto. Would they try to kill Konoha? 

Would saving the Uchiha clan lead to a Shinobi War?

Sarutobi and Danzo had planned this together. They had gambled on the fact that Itachi would accept the mission. They would obviously have a back-up plan if he didn't. How would he prevent the massacre if he didn't know of the back-up plan?

Even if Sarutobi changed his mind about the plan (which was very rare), there have been several cases in the past (future?) where the three elders had overuled the Hokage.

When Tsunade-sama had become Hokage, the elders had voted on their own agenda and overuled the belief of the Hokage. Even though the Hokage is strong, she is not immortal.

Sasuke bit on his thumb again, contemplating. The elders had called the coup of the Uchiha unforgivable. There was no way even if Sarutobi changed his mind, would they not carry out the plan.

Sasuke groaned and flopped into his back. Everything was so complicated! He had to protect Shisui, more importantly, his eye. But how?

How did Danzo manage to overpower Uchiha Shisui and take his eye?

He frowned and turned over onto his side. Think, you idiot!

Sasuke's eyes flashed open as he sat up again. Danzo took Sharingans. He had one that allowed him to bend reality. He used it during their fight on Samurai Bridge. 

What was it called...? It was named after some god...

Anyway, how was he supposed to counter something that would bend reality?

Technically...Sasuke thought about it. Couldn't he use it? He needed more research, but he was pretty sure he could as well, with the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Sasuke groaned yet again. The Sharingan thing Danzo used basically made him immortal... so what was the drawback? 

He needed to reserach more. He grabbed a tomato and chomped on it angrily. Everything was so complicated. He wanted to save the clan, but he didn't know how.

He knew one thing for sure. He needed to prevent the coup d'etat. To do that, he needed to get stronger and build up his chakra. 

Let's see...Itachi is 10 right now. He joined the ANBU at 11. 

Itachi's birthday was June 9. And today was...

Sasuke glanced at the calander. March 1st. Sasuke would join the academy at 5...

His birthday was July 23. He had around 6 months left to get stronger before he joined the academy. He had to control his chakra before then so he could appear weaker. 

Sasuke again threw himself onto his back and kicked his legs. He groaned once more and covered his head with his hands.

He sat up. There was no use in complaining. He glanced at the clock to check the time.

9:15 am. He woke up at 8. He had spent an hour thinking...

He needed to get out of the house and to the library. He needed to reserach the technique Danzo used to see how to counter it. Didn't Madara use it before too? 

Sasuke quickly gobled up all of the tomatos and grabbed the plate. He headed to the kitchen to place in the sink.

"Kaa-san, I'm going out!" he announced, grabbing his bag from the coat hanger by the door.

"Huh?"

"Bye Kaa-san! See you later!"

"Uchiha Sasuke, get back here! You're not going anywhe-"

His mother was cut off by the sound of Sasuke slamming the door shut and running away. Time to head to the library!
