Pain

The pain I feel is crushing me,
Twisting my insides,
I count to three.
Twenty seven more times,
It comes up again,
Another punch in the stomach,
I try so hard to pretend.
But you can't hide what's already there,
The proofs in front of me,
My dignity bare.
Why can't it stop?
There's no way around,
I try to get up,
But I fall to the ground.
Pain surrounds me,
It's holding me good,
But I don't like the way it feels,
Even though I know I should.
I should like the pain,
Because I've been through it before,
Many times in the past,
But I can't take it anymore.
I'm slowly losing my mind,
As I do it all again,
I let the pain get to me,
This time, I won't pretend.
