I feel all of my years
and I know your bones
your shoulders can hold this
but still you aren't atlas
shrugged and gave a secret smile
disappeared into your garden
consult your arcade oracle
see what they have to say
pinball conspiracy
feline ariadne with a ball of string
dream catchers
hung out on the back lawn
in the fight
under composition moonlight
no difference night to night
you said if I hold a candle to you
you might melt a little
and probably won't compare
work it out like algebra
camping tents round a ring of fire
artifice no artifice
make your mind up
tie my hands to concrete blocs
leave me to drown
I won't strangle you with piano wire
but with the notes played
let you know I know
let the tension build
hell is a place
and I know the way
as human not paragon
one hand cupped vs the wind
one to light the fire
keeper of the flame
how foolish do you feel?
verisimilitude unbidden unclasped
lisp after lisp
charybdis's powerlessness
once mystique is gone
tides and weather explained
things are the way that they are
they do and don't change
and I still feel the same
