The New Girl

Chapter 20

~Lucas's POV~

 Now I've never been in a big battle between werewolves and hunters, I've only been in one on one fights but I really should be in more battles cause I'm kicking everybody's ass. I let my eyes wonder to check to see how my family was doing, Joey and Lily were tag teaming and my parents were fighting with Leo and Ivy. 

"Lucas!" My head snapped to look at Lily, she was making her way over to me with Joey killing anybody who got in the way. "We have to find Riot!" She said looking at me, I lifted my nose and sniffed the air. The air was filled with the scent of blood and salt, it was hard to pin point where Riot had ran off too, I snarled in frustration. 

"I can't tell where she is!" I said as I looked at Lily and Joey, Lily snarled angrily as she bolted towards the woods where Riot had ran into, leaving Joey and I to follow after her. For someone who had just discovered her wolf, Lily was doing very well taking in all the scents and sights. 

As we headed deeper into the woods and away from the battle, the scent of everything started to become clearer and Lucas could clearly smell Riot now, along with Cody's scent. That made my blood boil and a snarl to rip from my throat, my dark blue eyes snapped towards wear their scents were coming from and I bolted that way not even waiting to see if Lily and Joey were following. The trees were starting to thin out as we started running up the cliff side that was beside the beach, when we came to the tree line, only to come to a screeching halt all three of us.

There stood Cody and Riot, Riot standing to close to the edge of the cliff while Cody stood not far from her. Us showing up made Cody turn his head to look at us, a smile curled his lips as his eyes locked with mine.

~Nobody's POV~

"How nice of you to join us, me and Riot were having such a nice conversation, weren't we?" Cody asked looking away from Lucas to Riot who glared harshly at Cody.

"I wouldn't say a nice conversation, me calling you an asshole doesn't count as a conversation." Riot said dryly, Cody sighed and shook his head as he took another step toward Riot, who stepped back in response but jumped forwards when rocks crumbled from underneath her feet. Lucas, Lily, and Joey snarled as they leaped towards Cody but before any of them could blink he had pulled out a silver tipped whip and slashed at the closest to him, which was Joey. 

Joey didn't have time to move so the silver tipped ends slashed at his chest , which sent what felt like fire and electricity threw out his whole body. He couldn't stop the yelp of pain that came from his muzzle as he collapsed  to the ground, his body shook violently as the electricity feeling still jolted threw his body. Riot, Lucas, and Lily stared in horror, Lily snarled at Cody as she slowly stalked over to Joey to check on him.

"Oh, what? Now that I have this you guy don''t want to play?" Cody mocked as he cracked the whip again, laughing at how Lucas and Lily flinched, but Cody did a very stupid thing. He turned his attention away from Riot. Riot's ice green eyes darted quickly around her, trying to find something to hurt Cody with, that's when her eyes landed on rock that was the same size as her hand.

'That'll work,' Riot thought as she reached down to grab the rock, when Cody finally turned his attention back to Riot it was too late. A rock slammed into his temple, causing his to stumble and his vision to go fuzzy, Cody cried out in pain and anger which made him sling his arm with the whip in his hand. The ends of the whip swung everywhere, Lucas and Lily flattened themselves to the ground so not to get hit, Riot jumped back just in time to avoid the silver tipped ends but the ground underneath her gave out.        

Lucas and Lily watched in horror as, if in slow motion, Riot fell from the edge of cliff. Her scream breaking them from their trance. Lucas bolted forward to watch as her body fell towards the crashing waves and jagged rocks below, dark blue met ice green before she hit the water. 

"NO!!!!!!!!!" Lucas howled loudly that everybody battling on the beach stopped to see what had happen.
