VISIONS

The thought of it didn't terrify me anymore. It was an escape route from the pain. No one would know. No one would even care. All I could think about, was a way to get out. I felt a cold breeze from the bedroom window. To think, it was right there, next to me, this whole time. A way out.

My family was dead, I had no friends, I was quite lonely. I enjoy the loneliness, the silence, until I see her. She shows her face every once in a while, but I'm the only one that can see her. She opened the window for me, and smiled as if I was staring into the face of a demon. She could read my thoughts. She new I wanted it, but I couldn't. I heard her screech and I bolted. I went up the stairwell and to the roof. I had to get away. I had to leave.

She had followed me and now she was coming to kill me. I couldn't give her the satisfaction of doing so. I ran and I jumped. The wind rushed over my body. I heard a woman from the street scream. It was the thought of finally being able to leave that drove me to do it. I was done with people and their petty remarks. It had to end.

And it did.
