Oblivious

I was completely oblivious to many things when I first encountered Arrow Cartier. How could I have known that a dimple appeared on his left cheek whenever a smile reached the backs of his eyes? Or that the same smile made his cheeks protrude, otherwise hidden beneath high arching cheekbones. That somehow that smile bought life back into a solemn, sunken face that frowned so often that a wrinkle was lightly embedded between both brows. Each time the corners of his lips rose, it was as if stars emulated their light from every pore on his skin, shining so brightly and so beautifully that anyone looked dull in comparison. I felt dull in comparison.

It's a shame he didn't smile much.
