"you're telling me... that i had to get insulted at, lose thing that are irreplaceable for me, deal with you and your friends making fun of me and my mom for being poor, and put up with all of your bullshit...
because you couldn't express slash hide...
the next day, taeyong woke from his sleeping slumber due to his roommate's alarm. the red headed boy found it funny that guanheng set that alarm for himself, yet taeyong is the one who wakes up to the alarm, which usually causes taeyong to wake up the black haired boy instead.
however, this morning was different since the alarm ran 45 minutes earlier than usual. as taeyong made his way to guanheng's bed to wake up his roommate, he realized that the chinese boy wasn't in his bed. taeyong rolled his eyes and scoffed.
"if he was going to leave early today, he could've at least told me so i can set my own alarm and not wake up at some unholy hour for no reason," taeyong mumbled, frustrated at the fact that it was 6 in the morning, he didn't need to wake up his roommate, and couldn't fall back asleep due to the fact that he already left his bed.
"school doesn't even start for another fucking two hours," taeyong cursed. he began to complain to no one about how guanheng hadn't told him the night before that he was leaving early in the morning. and to add on, his roommate left even before his alarm rang, which confused taeyong as to why guanheng even set the alarm in the first place. now, the red headed boy was already in a terrible mood and school hasn't even started.
as taeyong made his way to his closet to get changed for the school day, he began to wonder if jaehyun would still continue to bully him, even though taeyong knows why. there would be only one way to find out, but taeyong wasn't looking forward to it either way. school is still school, and if it's school, it's not cool.
after getting everything ready for school, taeyong left his room and headed towards boom bakery, the best breakfast place/cafe in this town. though he had to leave the school campus to go get breakfast there, he would always go to boom bakery for one reason, and that was their egg mcguffins.
however, what usually would give him a nice, fresh start in the morning became another thing to add on to his list of things he's currently annoyed and frustrated at. taeyong couldn't believe that out of all the places he would run into jaehyun outside of school, it was at his favorite breakfast place at 6:15 in the morning, which, to taeyong, is considered too early to deal with shit.
cursing jaehyun and everyone else he knows in his mind, taeyong walks inside the cafe as usual, and greets the cashier, byun baekhyun, who knows the red headed boy by heart since he was a frequent customer.
"hey, taeyong. your usual?" baekhyun asked as taeyong arrived to the counter.
"yes, please," taeyong said as he handed baekhyun the right amount of money to pay for his breakfast, which the cashier gladly accepted.
"you're really early today," baekhyun said as he wrote down taeyong's order for breakfast on his order sheet and ripped the page off.
"yeah, well... my roommate decided to leave early today without telling me the night before and set his alarm early so he could wake up, but he ended up leaving earlier than his alarm," taeyong explained to baekhyun who was carefully listening in on his complaints. "and i couldn't fall back asleep after waking up and getting out of bed, which is why i'm here at such an unholy hour, ordering an egg mcguffin that costs $3.68, and feeling like shit."
"well, on the bright side, your day can only get better. and it starts with breakfast! one egg mcguffin, coming up!" baekhyun exclaimed as he took taeyong's order to the baker in the kitchen.
taeyong chuckled before turning around to take a look at the cafe. the atmosphere was different from when he came at 7:00, his usual time. the bakery seemed more dark and creepy than usual, with the darkness outside of the cafe and most of the seats being empty save for taeyong himself and jaehyun.
when baekhyun came back, he saw taeyong looking a jaehyun, who was asleep at one of the booths at the back of the breakfast place. he caught the red headed boy's attention by beginning to talk about jaehyun.
"that boy was in here since five in the morning. he was at the door before we even opened and asked if you regularly visited this cafe. i said yes, but also told him that he was two hours too early, since you usually arrive at 7. i told him to come back, but he didn't want to miss you incase you ended up coming a little early or a little later, so he's been there, and fell asleep about 10 minutes into waiting for you to come," baekhyun explained as the red headed boy looked at his bully.
taeyong wouldn't admit it out loud, but jaehyun was cute when he was sleeping. he didn't seem so big and intimidating as he usually does; instead, the brown haired boy seemed more vulnerable and soft while asleep.
"here is your breakfast," baekhyun said as he came out with taeyong's egg mcguffin. giving it to taeyong, the red headed boy thanked the cashier before deciding to leave the cafe without waking jaehyun up. he also told baekhyun to say that he had never come that morning if jaehyun asked, in which baekhyun was confused, since he believed they were friends, but complied anyway.

as soon as taeyong found guanheng later that day, he began to complain to the chinese boy as to why he left his alarm on at some super early hour of the morning. nonstop during lunch and free period, guanheng had to listen to taeyong's complaints about being woken up early and being frustrated, irritated, and tired all at once. even doyoung and sicheng had to listen in on the conversation.
"-like imagine if i didn't have classes today, like if school was suddenly canceled. i would've woken up at six in the morning for no fucking reason and have to deal with being tired and irritated all day from waking up too early. you better have been glad that there actually was school today; otherwise, you would've been six feet under right now and-" taeyong continued to rant on and on about nothing by this point, and guanheng, sicheng, and doyoung were beginning to get annoyed.
"okay, hyung. i'm sorry for waking you up too early this morning from my alarm clock. i woke up earlier because yangyang called me, and i ended up forgetting about my alarm," guanheng explained to his hyung.
"it's like the alarm thing has had a huge effect on your daily mood," sicheng pointed out. taeyong shook his head.
"that's not the only reason but that's one of the reasons," the red headed boy said to his three friends. when his friends asked him for other reasons, he just shook it off and didn't reply to them.
just then, jaehyun came up to the four boys who were talking to each other during free period. he seemed out of breath and sleep deprived.
"taeyong... can... can i talk... to you?" jaehyun asked taeyong, in which the red headed boy just scoffed and then the other direction.
"please taeyong..." the brown haired boy was begging taeyong for a chance to explain everything to him.
"give me one reason why i should talk to you," taeyong said, turning back to face jaehyun and awaiting his explanation. his other three friends were just as impatient as the red headed boy himself.
"if you don't have a reason, then don't come to me until you have one."
with that, taeyong packed up his stuff, got up from his seat, and went away, leaving his other three friends with the option to either follow him or stay where they are.
after a few moments, jaehyun just left, feeling defeated, while guanheng, doyoung, and sicheng packed up their stuff since free period was almost over and headed back inside the school.
"yup... waking up early had an affect on him..." doyoung mentioned to get a laugh out of his friends at taeyong's mood.
