He flips to the first page in the photo album.
A picture of us together, me holding the camera in front of our mud covered faces. His lips pressed against my temple, eyes closed.
The sun had just come out after the big storm. My heart was aching painfully when it rained, afraid that Tucker might not come. I longed to see him, to bury my face into his soft chocolate brown hair. I lean against my bed frame. My family was out; bring my little brother for a check-up. They asked me to come along, but I had groaned and whined about having a headache and not wanting to go anywhere but upstairs in my room to take a nice long nap.
I looked at the clock that hung on the left side of my room, beside the door. He was a couple minutes late, probably because of the storm, but I was still worried. We haven't seen each other in at least two weeks, both of us busy with our own schedules.
A soft knock same from the window, then a shout, "Ebony!"
I hastily got off the bed and opened the window.
Tucker's head popped in, he was all wet.
"Ever heard of something called an umbrella?" I grin.
He smirks at me, "I was too excited to see you that I forgot the umbrella."
My heart fluttered, "Right."
"Help me in?" He asked, trying to pull himself in.
I stopped him, "Hey, hey, hey! Your shoes are muddy! I'll meet you at the front door, okay?" I asked, giving him a peck on the cheek.
"Fine, be like that!" he complained, slowly climbing back down to the ground as I closed the window.
I grab my jacket off the bed and run down the stairs. I slip in my shoes and lock the door behind me.
Tucker's standing in the middle of the drive way. He opens his arms once he sees me, and I run into them.
He presses his lips against mine and whispers, "I missed you," into my ear.
"Me too," I said as he took my hand and we walked towards the park.
"But I missed you, way more."
"Lies!" I kid.
He thinks for a minute and looks at me, "Yeah, I'm lying. Didn't miss you at all," he smirks.
"Jerk!" I say as I playfully pushed him away from me.
He falls into a puddle full of mud; I burst into laughter, clutching my stomach at the same time.
He looks at me disapprovingly.
I finally settle down, "I'm sorry, but you got to admit, you brought it onto yourself."
He lifts his hand towards me, gesturing for me to pull him up. I grab his hand, trying to pull, but instead, he pulls me down onto the mud.
I gasp, "Tucker!" I scream.
"Who's the one laughing now?" He laughs.
I glare at him, and get up as I tried to wipe the mud off my jacket with my hands. I can't believe he just did that! My parents would ask questions! Many, many questions! And this was also my new jacket!
He calls after me as I start to walk away. He grabs me by the arm to turn me around to look at him, but I don't so I just drop my head down to look at our feet instead, "I'm sorry, it was stupid for pulling you down," his voice full with plea.
I take a deep breath and release it as I plaster a big smile onto my face, "It's alright!"
He gives me an annoyed look, not buying a single word I say.
