Many emotions filled me at once: happiness, anger, frustration, relaxtion.

I couldn't believe what she just said. How could she have found out where he is? He's obviously not in Texas. Our town isn't that big, almost everyone knew each other.

"What do you mean you know where he is? This isn't some sick joke, right?"

"Emma I wouldn't joke about something like that." I knew she was serious, but I just couldn't process what she had told me.

"How do you know where he is? I'm pretty sure he isnt here."

"Stella." She simply answered.

"I think I'll need more explanation to that." I was now utterly confused. How would Stella know where Hayden is?

"Turns out Hayden is in the same college as her. She was talking about the guys there and how hot they were, She was showing me pictures and when I thought I saw a familiar face I asked her for his name and she answered 'Oh that's Hayden Greyson, he's one of the popular kids there.'" She explained.

"Where is that college?" I asked curiously

"In California."

I was just in shock that I finally knew something about Hayden, well two things actually; his college and the state he's in.

Next morning, I walk into school with my typical straight face. I saw those girls acting like they havent seen each other in forever, cake-faced bitches who think they run the school when no one gave two shits about them, and other people I simply didn't like, basically the entire school. I got my literature book from my locker and walked into my English class a minute before it started.

"Alright class, I'll pass by each one of you and take hand in your book reports for The Last Leaf," Ms. Pepper said, sounding too exicted.

She walked to each desk with her plastered smile and big eyes, which makes me wonder if she's really that happy or just faking it.

"Ms. Greyson, where's your report?"

"I didn't do it, my bad."

"Well then, I'm afraid you'll have to leave the class now. Oh, and I'll see you in detention after school." She continued to smile widely, which was getting creepy now.

"Okay then, see you in detention Ms. P." Although everyone was staring at me, I took my textbook and exited the class like nothing happened.

To: Tiffy

From: Em

Hey Tiff, I got kicked out of class, meet me when you're done from yours in class 506.

I press send and put my phone back into my pocket, bumping to the principal on the way to class 506.

"Ms. Greyson, let me guess, you got kicked out of class again? This is your fifth time in two weeks!" The prinicipal, Mr. Ramos said approaching me. He was in his early 50's, and all the teachers in our school found him hot, which was slightly disturbing.

"You don't want me to call Mrs. Long, do you?"

"And you don't want me to tell your wife, who's my History teacher, that you cheat on her with Mrs. Sanchez, do you?" I smirked as I see him get all nervous.

"Have a good day, Ms. Greyson." He gave me one last look and walked away.

I was reading The Great Gatsby for the third time while waiting for Tiffany to come to the class, and then suddenly the door knob twisted open and Tiffany appeared with her curly hair all over the place, as usual.

"Why did you get kicked out this time?"

"Didn't do the stupid book report, you know how I always do my homework the day before but yesterday I couldn't do anything. I was just thinking about Hayden." I closed my book and sighed. Tiffany sat next to me and put her head on my shoulder.

"Just focus on school right now, We only have about 3 weeks left and then summer! Which I am so excited about, did I tell that Kevin invited me to his summer party and I was the first person he told! Do you know what that means Emma!" Tiffany has this habit where she jumps from one topic to another in seconds.

"I don't like that kid."

"Emma, you don't like anyone anymore." I mean, she was right. I used to be that sociable, cheerful optimistic girl who loved and cared for everyone. But now I'm just this girl who doesn't like talking to anyone at all. It's better this way. Less people, less feelings.

"Once you get to know him, I'm sure you'll love him!"

"Yeah, I doubt that."

We stay silent for a while until we heard the bell and got up. Tiffany gave me a quick hug and rushed to her Biology class, Mr. Jacobs isn't a ray of sunshine, if you're late for a minute you get detention and extra work. I walk into my History class and take my seat and wait for this day to end.
