So I had my first appointment at YourGP with Dr Myskow, she was really nice and asked me about my journey with coming out and transitioning and how I realised I was trans. They have two psychiatrists there, one who sees 20 and under and another who sees 21 and above
The 20 and under psychiatrist has a shorter waiting list about 3 weeks I think she said and he is newer. The other psychiatrist has a slightly longer waiting list which is about 6-7 weeks. Becuase of when my birthday is I kinda got to chose who I went with and I chose the shorter waiting list.
They also asked who I came out to and how they reacted and why I chose not to change my name and why I don't want to go on hormones yet. She also asked how would top surgery affect me and I gave more physical answers such as muscle damaging healing and being able to exercise, becuase I am almost always binding I've never had to really deal with my chest and when I do I block it out.
She then asked if I had thought about surgeons and who I wanted to go with, I said I plan to go with Miles Berry, she then explained that I could book a consultation with him and that he won't be able to do the surgery until he gets a letter from her with the psychiatrist report aswell.
