Sand,
Miles upon miles of it,
A continuous white,
An infinite barrier between land and sea,
A tidal warzone.
Ocean,
A shimmering sparkling monster ruled by the moon,
A pool of turquoise water lapping at the horizon.
This is the beach.
Cliffs,
Rough lonely walls winding along the coastline,
The last barrier between land and sea.
Land,
The sea's worst enemy,
Neverending green pastures given no mercy from the monster.
This is one side of the warzone,
One contender in an ongoing battle.
Sea,
Endless,
A warrior fighting for more domain,
Slowly crumbling it's opponent's defence with relentless waves of reinforcement.
Horizon,
Far away,
Barely visible,
The last soldier who's always standing,
The gateway to eternity,
This is the opposing side,
The other competitor in the world's biggest war.
