Life was such a funny thing. Just a few hours ago, she was sitting in Jimin's car on the way to school, looking down at her hands resting on her lap too. But now, a couple of hours later, she was also watching her hands resting on her lap, but so much around her had changed. And the most important change of all, was that her first love - the boy- or rather, young man- she had been in love with for five whole years... was finally next to her again.
"I heard from Seokjin-ssi that he let you listen to our conversation before I left," Taehyung finally broke the silence ten minutes into the car ride, glancing at Jisoo briefly. "So... now you know everything."
"About your dad... about your mom... about everything you lied to me or refused to tell me about-" Jisoo swallowed hard, not meeting Taehyung's eyes. "Yes."
"So you heard everything..." Taehyung bit his lower lip nervously. "You now know how much I liked you back then."
Jisoo was silent for a while. She did hear Taehyung's heartfelt confession when Seokjin had let her listen to the recordings. Her heart had fluttered back then, and had sunk at the thought that she wasn't aware of this back then as well. But all of that was in the past.

"If you really liked me, then why did you leave?" Jisoo said quietly. "Because if you left... Kim Seokjin would pay off your debts?"
"No-" Taehyung pursed his lips as he pulled over at the side of the road suddenly, so that he could look at Jisoo directly in her face. "No, Jisoo-ya. No, I didn't take up his offer and no- I didn't- and I wouldn't ever- choose money over you."
"Then-" Jisoo voiced out the only word that came to her mind. "Why...?"
"After that conversation with Seokjin-ssi-" Taehyung inhaled sharply, trying to compose himself. "He reported my dad to the police, and they came knocking at my door a few days after that - the very same day and you confessed your feelings for me."
"I think..." Jisoo corrected quietly. "I confessed my feelings for you more than once."
"The official confession," Taehyung clarified. "The one in the art room, when I told you I'd give you an answer the next day."
"But you never showed up."
