But no matter how beautiful the lady was, Jisoo couldn't take her eyes off the man standing next to her. She recognised him at once - the deep brown eyes, the boxy smile, the manly built, the carefully sculpted face, even the tiny nose mole that Jisoo had taken notice of that one time she attended to his facial wounds for him. There was no mistaking who he was...
He was back.
The thing was that despite the countless number of times Jisoo had lost hope in Taehyung returning over the years, deep down inside her, she had a strong desire for him to come back. And this desire had manifested itself in many ways - one of them was imagining the day he'd come back in her head, over and over again. But out of the million possible scenarios she'd thought out, meeting him in the very classroom they'd spent most of their time together during their uni days... wasn't an option.
Jisoo often also thought about how she'd react when she actually saw him. She considered the possibility that she might faint, or cry, or laugh and run into his arms. A month back, when she thought that she had seen him at the wedding... she chased after him with tears flowing down her cheeks, like a complete utter mess.

But now that he stood before her very eyes, Jisoo felt... nothing.
But at the same time, she felt everything - a wave of emotions rushed over her and she felt the sudden urge to cry and laugh and run towards him all at the same time. She felt like her heart was racing at a million miles per hour, and like it was about to leap out of her chest. She felt like her head was going to explode from how giddy with excitement she was. But at the same time, seeing him standing so calmly next to the beautiful lady, Jisoo couldn't say a word. She couldn't react. She felt like maybe, after all this while, Taehyung had been hiding from her as well. And though she might be happy to see him, he probably wasn't.
He didn't look like he was, anyway, judging from the way he stared blankly into Jisoo's eyes - no third party would think he even recognised her. But there was no way he didn't - Jisoo could see it in his eyes - a small twinkle of recognition. But he didn't say a word, and just stared, so Jisoo just stared back.
"Taehyung-oppa," the woman standing next to Taehyung hooked her arm around his, and Jisoo's eyes automatically followed. "You okay?"

Taehyung turned to glance at the woman and smiled, but he pulled his arm out of her grip at once, after glancing at Jisoo. "What? No, I'm fine, Lisa, don't worry about me."
Lisa frowned as she glanced at Jisoo. "Why? Do you know her?"
Taehyung bit his lower lip as he turned to look at Jisoo once more, who held a paint palette in her hands. Jisoo watched him intently, wondering what he'd say. Inside her, she willed him to say yes - that he recognised her and that he knew her. Whoever this woman was to him, Jisoo didn't know, and neither did she care - she just didn't want him to deny knowing her, because that would truly be the final straw.
"I..." Taehyung swallowed hard. "I..."
Ping! Piang! Booloop- Booloop- Boop-
Jimin and Jennie stood at the door, Jennie holding a bowl of fried mandu and a bowl of tangsuyuk on each hand. Meanwhile, the three bowls of jjajjangmyeon Jimin had supposedly been carrying lay on the floor in a messy puddle of black chunky globs. The two of them stared at Taehyung with their mouths hanging open, unable to process what they were seeing.

"Kim... K-Kim Taehyung-" Jimin stuttered, as tears welled up in his eyes. "Wha- H-How- No, where- No- Oh my goodness-"
Jennie's eyes met Jisoo's, and she knew what to do right away. She put down the bowls on a nearby table, grabbed Jimin's hand and pulled him back, before he could approach his best friend. She then turned to Lisa with a bright smile.
"Agnes, could you come with us for a while?" Jennie said sweetly. "We wanna clean up this mess over here, and we can't do it with just the two of us. Could you kindly help us, please?"
"Agnes...?" Lisa raised her eyebrows in surprise. "I'm not Agnes. My name's Lisa."
"Exactly, Lisa-" Jennie bit her lower lip as her eyes darted furtively between Jisoo and Taehyung. "Please come with us, Lisa."
Lisa frowned. "It's just a small cleaning job, plus I'm here as a contractor, not to clean up-"
Jennie grabbed Lisa by her hand, surprising her. "Let's go-"
"Ya!" Jimin yelled as Jennie dragged him out of the art room together with Lisa. "Where are you taking me? Taehyung-ah! I wanna talk to Taehyung! Ya! Jennie-ya! Let go! Kim Taehyung! I'm Park Jimin-"
And then finally, the voices disappeared along the corridor, leaving just Jisoo and Taehyung alone in the art room - the place where it all started.
