"You sure have a complicated relationship with your dad, huh." Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows. "Sometimes I feel like you speak of him like he's the worst person on this planet, but most of the time, you seem to not hate him as much as I imagine I would if I were to be in your position."
Taehyung sighed. His mind was filled with way too much. "You're right... it's complicated. I do hate him for sure, but at the end of the day, he's my dad. I just, I simply couldn't turn him in on my own."
"Well, you didn't have to anyway, since Seokjin-ssi did that for you."
Taehyung bit his lower lip. "Mmhmm."
"Do you resent him for doing so? I mean I don't think you were telling him about it just for him to tell the cops on your situation."
"Maybe I was, I don't know," Taehyung said with a sigh. "Maybe, subconsciously, inside of me, I wanted someone to find out and to help me do the thing I simply couldn't bear to do. Maybe it was because I knew that guy would do anything just to be with Jisoo, maybe I knew it all along..."
"A jerk, that's what he is," Jungkook sneered. "He's disgusting, why would you let someone like him near the girl you like?"

"He may be a jerk to me, but that's only because I'm way too close to his fiancée." Taehyung sighed. "If I were to be in his position, I'd be mad too. Unlike how Jisoo feels, he actually really likes her, I can tell. He can't just find out about me being abused and not call the cops on me, could he? To be honest, I was pretty much setting him up."
"You set yourself up in the process, hyung-" Jungkook sighed as he took a sip out of his own can. "The first time we met, you told me she was your girlfriend... You're really gonna let her go like this?"
"Mm-" Taehyung pursed his lips. "Jisoo is way stronger than she looks - I know she will do just fine without me."
"Hyung-"
"Just promise that you'll do what I told you to do, Jungkook-ah," Taehyung said, managing a smile as he patted Jungkook on the shoulder. "That's good enough for me."
Jungkook sighed. "I will."
"And also, swear you won't tell anyone about this-" Taehyung paused to think for a while. "On second thoughts, just pretend you don't know me at all - that will be better since no one knows that we know each other."

Jungkook frowned.
"It's been nice knowing you for this short period of time, Jungkook-ah," Taehyung said with a smile as he got to his feet. "It's time for me to go now. Please, take care."
"Hyung, wait-" Jungkook frowned as he grabbed on to Taehyung's hand before he could leave. He looked up at him with his big round eyes. "I promise to do all those things you asked me to, so just promise me one thing."
"What is it?"
"Promise me you'll come back one day."
Taehyung smiled. He squatted down and patted Jungkook's shoulder gently as he looked into his eyes.
"I will, and I'll contact you when the day comes."
