"Ah..." Jennie's voice made it clear that she understood everything at once. "Unnie... it's okay... what did he say though?"
"He told me through Instagram message-" Jisoo finally burst into tears and wailed loudly. "He couldn't even come here to tell me face to face, Jennie-ya..."
"No, unnie-" Jennie clucked her tongue, clearly trying to think of something to cheer her best friend up. "I'm sure he had his reasons..."
"No!" Jisoo bawled. "He said- He said him not being here is his answer to me."
It was silent for a while.
"That jerk-" Jennie seethed with rage. "I'm gonna take revenge for you and kill him tomorrow."
"I guess I was blind all this while, to think he actually had a thing for me-" Jisoo cried and cried, because that was, unfortunately, the only way she could feel better. "I spent so much time with him that I almost forgot that it was me who liked him first all this while. I was mistaken - it was all one-sided, Jennie-ya, he never liked me... I was the one who was living in my own imaginary bubble all along..."
"No, unnie..." Jennie didn't know what else to say. "Don't say that, please... I'm coming over now."

Jisoo let out one last wail before putting down the phone and burying her face in her hands, and proceeded to cry for an hour straight until Jennie came, and then cried for an hour more in Jennie's arms.
She was broken.

Taehyung sighed as he lay down on the grass patch and slid his phone into his pocket.
This was way harder than he thought.
Taehyung felt a gentle pat on his back and looked up. Jungkook hovered over him, with a face of concern.
"Hyung, you okay?"
Taehyung shook his head and combed his hair back with hands, managing a smile. "I'm fine, Jungkook-ah."
Jungkook took a seat next to him, cracked open one of the canned drinks in his hands and handed it to Taehyung. "Drink this, hyung."
