"I found myself spending my day thinking of her at every possible time, and wondering what she was doing, and if she was thinking of me too. And at some point, I realised that... wow, I cannot do without this girl."

Jisoo was choking on her tears as she listened on. Seokjin handed her a piece of tissue, but she rejected it - she was simply too engrossed.

There was a long pause in the audio recording.

"I don't know why you're telling me all this, when there's clearly no point." Seokjin spoke curtly. "Even if you love her, you should give up as soon as you can. Because Jisoo will get married to me. The two of you... are impossible."

"And what? Because of a business deal between your dad and her's?" Taehyung scoffed. "What is Jisoo - an offering from her dad to you just to make your dad happy? Is that all she is?"

"No-" Seokjin inhaled sharply. "She's not an offering, so don't you dare say that. Jisoo is my person."

"But it's true, am I right?" At this point, Taehyung sounded like he was getting a little more worked up. "You all, manipulating Jisoo to do the things she doesn't want to do, just for her dad's business... do you think that that's appropriate? Jisoo is a human being - not a means for your stupid transactions!"

"Shut up!" Seokjin raised his voice. "She isn't just a means for our transactions... she isn't... I love her, and I just know she will grow to love me too... one day. It's just a matter of time."

"How long are we talking about?" Taehyung chuckled softly. "Because based on what I know, the two of you have known each other for decades... and she has never seen you as more than an elder brother."

There was another long pause in the recording.

"I can make her happy, Seokjin-ssi," Taehyung said quietly. "I know you love Jisoo and care a lot about her. As long as you let her go, I promise that I will love her and treat her well."

"You say you can make her happy-" Seokjin responded. "With your family background... are you sure that is even possible?"

Taehyung hesitated for a while longer than he would have if he were to be 100% confident. "Yeah, of course. Jisoo told me before that happiness doesn't just depend on material things-"

"She said that?" Seokjin laughed. "Wow, that's surprising. Because if she knew what your situation was like, I don't think she'd be saying something like that so carelessly. It isn't just about you not being able to give her branded bags and expensive purses or whatever, Taehyung-ssi. Based on what I know, your dad is in debt, isn't he?"
