"So... this where you stay, huh."

Taehyung glanced at Jisoo, who was staring up at the run-down apartment Taehyung lived in.

"It's pretty shabby, huh." Taehyung let out a woeful chuckle. "Probably looks like a dumpster if you compare it to your house."

"I wouldn't call it shabby..." Jisoo chuckled softly. "Rustic, maybe?"

"Rustic," Taehyung repeated after her, chuckling softly.

This was a first time someone described his house to him as rustic. The first time Jimin had seen it, he had straight up told Taehyung that he might as well live in a rubbish truck. But that was just Jimin, and Taehyung knew he meant no evil intentions when he said such a thing.

"So..." Taehyung pursed his lips as he glanced at Jisoo once more, who was busy watching the children play in the sand. "Tell me why you really needed to see me today... and why you have been crying."

Jisoo shifted uncomfortably in her seat, not answering Taehyung immediately.

"You know..." she began after a long pause. "Do you ever just sit there and recall how you were like as a child?"

"I do actually, pretty often." Taehyung thought for a while, and recalled the last image of his mom on her deathbed. "I think I was a pretty maladjusted child."

"Oh, what a coincidence-" Jisoo laughed. "So was I."

"Well-" Taehyung laughed. "I would say I still am pretty maladjusted."

"Oh, that's interesting-" Jisoo grinned at Taehyung. "So would I. Maybe that's why I like you so much."

Taehyung laughed. He was so used to Jisoo dropping 'I like you's here and there every so often that he was no longer taken by surprise when she did that.
