Jisoo wiped the tears away from her face, adjusted her clothes a little and put on a poker face, before finally answering the door.

"Come on in."

There was a short pause. Then the door knob turned and in came a pretty middle-aged woman, who looked exactly like Jisoo. The resemblance was uncanny - there was no doubt about who she was.

"Jisoo-ya," Jisoo's mom said with a gentle smile as she approached her carefully, taking a seat on Jisoo's bed. "How's the packing going?"

"Fine," Jisoo said bluntly. She had never shared a close relationship with her mom since young, and this fact had never changed over the past 25 years.

"Why do you look so upset?" Jisoo's mom reached for her hand, but Jisoo moved her hand away slightly. Jisoo's mom pursed her lips awkwardly as she glanced at her daughter. "Did something happen?"

 "Did something happen?"

Jisoo looked away. "It's nothing."

Jisoo's mom scanned the room, her eyes settling on the box, a look of realisation spreading across her face at once as she spotted the photo frame. Jisoo noticed where exactly she was looking at, and hurriedly shoved the box under her bed at once.

Jisoo's mom pursed her lips. "You're still keeping that photo, huh."

"Yeah," Jisoo said coldly, lifting her eyes to meet her mom's. "Why? You asking because you wanna get rid of it again?"

"How could you possibly say that-"

It was the truth. Ever since he had left, her parents had tried time and time again to get rid of every single trace of him. There was once when they threw everything out in trash bags, which thankfully Jisoo had found before they were picked up by the rubbish truck. Jisoo had thrown a huge fit over that, and even threatened her parents that she'd leave home if they ever tried anything funny again. Three years had passed since then, but Jisoo still held a grudge.

Jisoo's lips trembled as she glanced at her mom, her eyes filled with hatred. "Why, am I wrong?"

Jisoo's mom inhaled sharply. "Jisoo-ya, your dad and I already apologised for that a million times, why can't you forgive us?"
