"You're just a failure with a death wish!"

Those words kept on ringing in her head over and over again.

"A failure..."

No...

"With a death wish..."

No!

"A failure!"

Never!!!

"You're nothing!"

"No!!!"

"NOTHING!!!"

"NO!!!"

Cinder Fall wakes up screaming from her nightmare, but not without throwing a fireball at the wall before her, damaging it.

Cinder was disoriented and tired.

More emphasis on the tired part.

It took a while before she came to her senses.

'It was just a nightmare,' she realized quickly, while at the same time, cursing at herself for wasting even just a small fraction of her power.

As small as it may be, it was still something she valued, and she allowed such a foolish little thing such as a nightmare to have her waste such power.

After all, she is not a child anymore. She is a grown woman with her own identity and agenda in mind.

A woman with a goal set in stone.

That goal...

Is to prove a point.

That she is no longer the weak and defenseless child that her family would always neglect and abuse, that she is no longer the desperate thief who scours the streets for food to eat and clothers to wear, that she is no longer the weak one...

But the strong one...

The strong one who will overcome and rule over the weak.

The one who is destined to gain power; power that she rightfully deserves.

Her whole life, Cinder had been treated like she was nothing; merely garbage that is easily disposable...

But now, the time has come for her to take control of her own destiny, and finally prove once and for all...

That the child of yesterday's nightmare is no more, and the only thing that remains...

Is the huntress of tomorrow's bane.

That huntress...

Is Cinder Fall.

Not the defenseless and naïve child known as Ella Thames...

But Cinder Fall.

Cinder Fall.

The sound of the name she made for herself continued to ring out loud in her thoughts, reminding her of the person she has become, and is still willing to be.

The person she will always be.

Nothing, and no one else, but Cinder Fall.

"A failure with a death wish, huh, father? Ironically, I could say the same thing about you," Cinder said with a subtle, devilish grin as she stared at the slightly burning wall of the warehouse she has currently taken shelter in.

'I want to be strong... I want to be feared... I want to be powerful...'

"You really think that the little girl you once abused and neglected would stay that way for long? Weak and defenseless? Ha! You're much more pathetic than what I used to be!"

With that said, Cinder fires one more fireball at the wall, incinerating it completely.

"I am no longer that scared little girl whom you would beat on an everyday basis! Do you hear me?! NO LONGER!" She screamed out loud. "YOU HEAR ME?! NO LONGER!!!"

She then began to let out a... Laugh.

A loud, maniacal laugh.

She hasn't laughed like this before, not so much of a chuckle, even, but now, it felt so... Rejuvinating.

It felt like she was... Powerful.

It felt... Good.

Cinder takes a deep breath of satisfaction.

"Father, father, father... Did you really think that I am nothing but a failure with a death wish? Well, think again..."

Cinder sparks a flame in her hands.

"I'm not done YET."
