The wind howled as the dark, ruthless waves crashed against the side of ship. The only thing that was calming about the situation was the stars in the clear night sky. What was death truly like? The blonde stared helplessly into the dark abyss, thinking about the cruel reality she was forced to live in. She didn't ask to be filthy rich while the poor starved around for food. 'Just jump' , she thought as the cool winds tickled her cheek. Everything about her so called "fantastic" life to her was the definition of hell. All of a sudden her diamond engagement ring she wore on her hand felt heavier than before. Her hair flew in the cold night air as she kept glancing down at the dark ocean below her. Her hands were sweaty, due to how tight she was holding the railing. It was too late to climb back over onto the safety of the hardwood floor. To escape her confinements of her prison cell she had to jump. For once she finally had a way out! She could be free and reunite with her mother at the golden gates of heaven. "Alright Lucy..on the count of three...". Her thoughts snapped back to all those expensive jewelry she owned. Those damned things always felt heavy on her body. "One..." she said quietly gritting her teeth. All the endless parties she was forced to go to. All of her opinions she never got to say. Blinking away tears and swallowing a lump in her throat, she croaked out "two". Finally the thought of her fiancé, Dan made her open her eyes. "Three." She almost growled out. Alright. It was time to let go and be free- "ummm... why are you just standing there talking to yourself?..". Lucy's eyes perked up at the sound of that unfamiliar voice. "You must be a weirdo to just be standing at the back of the ship...". This was so not the time for this... pink haired man to be talking to her. Lucy narrowed her eyes at him. "Who are you calling a weirdo?!"

The man chuckled and walked closer to her, completely ignoring her glare. "There's nobody else around... so it's gotta be you!" What the heck? Lucy growled out before turning her attention to the ocean, "you're distracting me! Go away!" The man blinked and stared at the woman. She obviously came from first class. She looked upset... and she was about to jump! "Hold on.. you're not seriously planning on jumping right?" Lucy ignored his question hoping he would leave her alone. However, if only Lucy knew what she got herself into.... The man crossed his arms over his muscular chest and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I can't let you jump. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I witnessed someone ending their life". Lucy finally looked at the man again and really took a minute to think about her position. "You don't even know me..." Lucy mumbled out. Even with the quietest of words being spoken, due to his sensitive hearing, the man heard her perfectly clear. "I also know for a fact that you wouldn't be too happy about that temperature..." The winds seemed to pick up at that exact moment, allowing Lucy to consider how cold it really was out here. "H-how could?" She asked trying to keep a straight face. "Freezing." The man replied. The look on her face told him everything. She wouldn't jump because she was just scared. At that moment a fire burned inside of the pink haired male. He was mad at whoever hurt this woman to think she had no way out. Very slowly so he wouldn't startle her, the man presented his hand to her. "Cmon... I'll pull you back over. You don't want to do this and frankly..." Lucy's cheeks tinted red because of the winds..... or at least that's what she was telling herself. The man was looking for any signs of letting go before continuing. "Frankly, I won't be exactly thrilled to jump in that cold water. If ya jump then I'm jumping also got it?". The way the man bluntly just said that and now is pointing a finger at her?! WAS RUDE.... but it did warm Lucy's heart nonetheless. Finally Lucy could breathe again as she just felt her worries disappear, allowing her to turn around and grab his hand. "That's it!" He gave her a toothy grin. Lucy came face to face with the man who just basically saved her life and she didn't even know his name. As if reading her mind the man leaned in close, his hot breath fanning her face as he spoke: "Names Natsu, Natsu Dragneel". Lucy blinked and looked into Natsu's warm onyx eyes. "Lucy Heartfilia" she introduced herself with a small smile. Natsu's eyes lit up with mischief. "Lucy Heart-feel-me-a?" Natsu found it so funny that her face had puffed up. He shook his head and spoke before she yelled at him. "Nah just kidding Luce". Lucy blushed at the sound of her new nickname. "L-Luce?" She stuttered out as she lifted her foot to climb over the railing. "Well yeah! Luce sounds cool don't you-"...
However, a sudden slip of Lucy's shoe sent the two into a spiraling disaster. Screams were heard from the back of the ship as Natsu struggled to pull the screaming girl up. "HELP!!!!" Lucy screamed loudly, flailing around and trying to touch the railing. The water roared in her ears reminding her what what would happen if she fell into the icy water. "Hey! Listen I won't let go no matter what okay!? I promise Lucy! Now cmon pull yourself up!!" With the help of Natsu's strong arms and a little spark of fire in Lucy's eyes, Natsu managed to pull her up back onto the ship and into his awaiting arms. The couple fell back onto the floor gasping for breath. Their moment however was short lived when the sounds of footsteps drew closer to where the two were laying. "What's all this!?" a man's voice hollered out loudly. If only these men knew that the positioning on the ground was a complete accident but unfortunately these snobby men would've used any excuse to make Natsu look like the bad guy here. It also didn't help that Natsu landed ONTOP of Lucy making it look he was sexually assaulting her. "Stand back! Don't make any movements kid!". Natsu growled as he got up putting his hands up in surrender. "Fetch the master arms!!"

The next thing Natsu knew, he had iron cuffs around his wrists so he couldn't try anything funny. The sounds of heavy footsteps and the feeling of his jacket being pulled by two strong hands, snapped him out of his thoughts. "What made you think you could put your hands on my fiancé!?" Natsu glanced behind the raging man to see Lucy with a blanket wrapped around herself. She was staring at them with tear stained cheeks and she didn't look happy at all. It didn't take Natsu too long to piece together why- "LOOK AT ME YOU FILTH!!" The man tugged on his scarf that was loosely around Natsu's neck. Natsu's onyx eyes widened and he glared at the man in front of him. "Why you-" "Dan stop! It was an accident!" Thank god for Lucy. If Lucy hadn't said something, Natsu would've said something he probably would've regretted. The man known as Dan Straight, Lucy's fiancé turned to face her. He clearly didn't believe her. "An accident?" he asked. Lucy stared back with a straight face. "It was! Stupid really... I-i was leaning over and I slipped". Lucy looked at Natsu's puzzled face. He furrowed his eyebrows at her clearly knowing that she was lying but why? "I was leaning far over to see the umm... the uh... the uh.." Lucy's voice trailed off as she desperately thought about an answer. To add a better effect she used her hand to move in a circular motion, as if she was stuck on the word. Dan did not seem fazed at all he watched her struggle. "Propellers?" Dan asked, now looking bored with this whole situation. "Propellers!" Lucy repeated as if she was grateful for Dan to give her the answer she needed. "And I slipped! And I would've gone overboard but Mr. Dragneel here saved me, and almost went over himself!!" Lucy explained hoping her fiancé was dumb and wouldn't think she was lying. Not only would she be in major trouble, but the small amount of freedom would be taken away immediately. Lucky enough for Lucy, Dan took her lie and announced to the group: "she wanted to see the propellers!. A friend of Dan stepped out from behind them laughing. "Like I told you Dan! Women and machinery do not mix well with one another!" The master arms who was head of the police on the Titanic, turned Natsu to face him. "Was that the way of it?". Natsu looked back at Lucy to see her staring at him. She was pleading him silently to just agree with her, so this whole situation can be done. "Yeah. That was pretty much it". Natsu mumbled out. The master arms unlocked the heavy items. Natsu grabbed his scarf and pulled it tighter around his neck, still annoyed that Dan touched his precious scarf. If it wasn't for those handcuffs and Lucy's tears, Natsu would've knocked his teeth in already.

"Well it's all over with! Let's get back to the brandy yeah?" Dan's friend spoke loudly. Natsu watched as Dan wrapped his arms around Lucy. "Look at you! You must be freezing! Let's get you inside..." Dan said as he pulled Lucy away and rubbing her arms. Lucy blinked away fresh oncoming tears. She knew she was going to go back to her lifestyle now. Dan would probably stay with her for the rest of the night. She was not interested in spending another night with this man. Lucy declared right there and then that she would probably- no she would never see Natsu ever again. Once again, luck was on Lucy's side as Dan's friend spoke up halting the couple. "Perhaps a little something for the boy?" Lucy looked up at her fiancé, already knowing his pride was challenged. He always wanted to portray the image of a first class gentleman. "Of course" he said quickly and looked towards his body guard or whatever Samuel was. "Mr. Samuel I think a 20 should do it." Samuel simply nodded after receiving his orders. Lucy however decided to to test the waters. She laughed to get Dan's attention. Surely enough it worked. "Is that the going rate for saving the woman you love?" Lucy asked. She knew she had Dan right under her fingers. Dan looked at Lucy and saw her face. "Lucy is displeased. What to do?" Dan glanced back at Natsu, before turning to Lucy. "I know" he simply said. Lucy watched as Dan walked back over to Natsu. "Perhaps you can join us for dinner tomorrow evening. To regale the group... with your heroic tale." Dan offered. Natsu thought about it for a second. He was annoyed by this man. Why did men like Dan have to think they were better than everyone else? Lucy didn't even look happy to be taken away by this snob.

Lucy...
The thought of seeing Lucy again was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Natsu grinned and said:

"Sure. Count me in."
