"OK, twirl!" Riley commanded, taking picture after picture. "Now strike a pose. That's it, yeah!"

Lizzie and Josie spun around, twirling their flower girl dresses, while Riley acted like she was Tyra Banks on the set of an 'America's Next Top Model' photoshoot.

"When's the wedding?" Josie asked, still dancing her way around the room next to her sister.

"Um, I don't know," Riley admitted. She had no idea what the state of Caroline and Stefan's relationship was, but she knew that the wedding wasn't the most common topic of conversation. They had many more pressing issues to think about. "But it might not be as soon as mommy promised."

"Why?" Lizzie demanded in a small voice.

Riley scrambled. "Well, because people who love each other don't always get married. Look and me and Uncle Damon. We love each other, but we're not getting married, see?"

Josie's eyes fell to the floor, whereas Lizzie looked over at something in the corner. Within a few seconds, the thing that Lizzie looked at was on fire.

"Lizzie!" Riley screeched, covering the small fire with a blanket, putting it out. "How long have you been able to do that?"

The little blonde girl shrugged, while her brunette sister grinned.

"She did it at school," Josie snitched, causing Lizzie to push her. Riley quickly walked up to them and took one of their hands in each of hers.

"Look girlies," she said, kneeling on the ground in front of them. "I know that the stuff you can do is cool, you're both really special. But you have to be careful, okay? Do you promise?"

"We promise," they said in unison. She pulled them into a quick hug, then left the room in search of their parents, who she found arguing in the middle of the Armory.

"Hi, sorry to interrupt," she said, stopping them mid-sentence. "But... since when has Lizzie been able to set things on fire?"

Ric's eyes widened in alarm. "Is she okay?"

Riley nodded immediately. "Yeah, they're both fine; I put it out and made them promise to be careful. But she clearly can't control it. What are you gonna do?"

Caroline shrugged. "I have no idea. I mean, they were asked to leave their preschool; there's nowhere for them to go."

Ric opened his mouth, about to speak, when the door to the Armory burst open and Stefan and Damon came in, carrying an unconscious Kai.

"What the hell?" Riley asked, crossing her arms.

"Apparently hell isn't a problem for him anymore," Damon told her. "We need somewhere to store Kai until we can get Elena back."

"And how do you plan to do that?" Caroline asked skeptically. She glanced at Stefan for less than a second, before looking back at Damon and focusing on him.

Damon gave her a sly smile. "We have an audience with the devil."

"Why the hell did Cade wanna meet here?" Stefan asked when they pulled up at the meeting place. It was a quarry, aka, next to a body of water.

"Beats me," Damon said absentmindedly. Then he sighed. "We may not have another chance, so you wanna tell me why you were planning on leaving town?"

Riley looked up at Stefan, struggling to save her outrage for the person that needed it.

"You're leaving?" she asked. "After everything that Caroline's done for you, after all she's been through with you, because of you-"

Stefan cut her off. "Look, me leaving Mystic Falls is the best thing for her."
