Let the fun begin. 😈

The city council occupied one of the seats inside the boardroom. Tina Gomez, was the designated council member for the district that Moonie's bakery was located. She sat in her seat, busy shuffling through her papers. The expression on her face was unreadable. Moonie couldn't tell if she wanted to be there or not. Either way, she had to. It was partially her fault that the bakery had been shutdown.

The room was quiet-except for the sound of the beeping noise that came from the ringing phones. The boardroom was organized and well put together. The screen presentation was setup for Tina's post-meeting she was having in about an hour. It was bundled up and connected to a laptop.

Moonie sat in the comfortable chair and looked around the rectangular table. Pens and papers occupied certain spaces while a pitcher of ice-cold water sat in front of Tina.

"Let's make this quick, Milani." Tina announced while sighing, her eyes fluttered as if she was irritated. She ran her manicured fingers through her coal-black hair and placed her brown eyes on Moonie. She looked exhausted, her job as a council member was kicking her eyes. She had the bags under her eyes and gray hair to prove it.

Of course, the council's facial expression made Moonie nervous. She rubbed her brown hands together and tried her best to collect her words. Her thick lips parted as she started to speak.

"My bakery was closed recently-"

"For how long?" Tina interrogated her.

"Almost two months."

As soon as Moonie answered, Tina started writing. Her hand was pressed against her ballpoint pen as she scribbled closed for two months down.

"Continue, I'm sure you can talk whilst I write." Tina implied while waving her hand in a rude motion.

"Oh-yes-sure." Moonie looked over at her lawyer as if she didn't have a clue on what to say next. Marguerite gave her an reassuring look and that caused Moonie to go on.

"Well, my bakery has been closed for two months due to a misunderstanding. Officer Walsh wrongfully accused me of having drugs in my bakery. He pulled a gun out on me and started to illegally search my bakery without a warrant. I will also like to add that he didn't find any drugs in my shop, Mrs. Gomez."

Tina sighed while folding her hands together.

"Your name is Milani Valdez-you're married to Kohen Valdez?"

"That's correct." Moonie replied while nodding her head.

Tina narrowed her eyes and said, "An alleged drug trafficker."

"Mrs. Gomez, this is unnecessary. We're here to discuss my client-not her husband." Marguerite interjected.

"My husband is not a drug trafficker." Moonie replied honestly with a slight frown. Kain had changed his ways and was now handling his other businesses. She just didn't understand why Tina was being so mean to her. All she wanted was a chance to get her bakery back open.

"This paperwork says otherwise." Tina replied while tapping her red, manicured finger on the paper. "Your husband was actively present at your bakery days before Officer Walsh did the search-well, illegal search."

"He comes in and helps me sometimes. There's nothing wrong with that." Moonie excused. She had been absence from her shop during those days.

Suddenly, the door to the room opened. A thin blonde sashayed inside and neared Tina. "It's time to prepare for your meeting." She whispered while giving Moonie a small smile.
