"Are you familiar with the rules that I have given you?"

The older lady looked at Moonie and furrowed her eyebrows. Kain sucked his teeth and translated his wife's words in Spanish so the lady could understand. She replied back to Kain while nodding her head.

Moonie rolled her eyes while patting her left foot against the fossil grey floors. She was more than ready to shoo the lady out so she could lock her house up and get something to eat.

"Oh yes, I understand. So do I come back tomorrow morning?" The lady asked. She was eager to start her job as a nanny. Kain and Moonie were paying her real good.

"No-you're starting in two weeks. Baby translate that so we can go." Moonie said in an agitated voice as her moon-shaped eyes scanned her cozy living room.

Kain did just that. "¿Entiende usted lo que estamos diciendo?" He asked her.

"Sí, señor." The lady responded back with a smile on her face. She grabbed her oversized black purse and stood up to leave. Kain made sure she got inside of her PT Cruiser safely.

For some reason, she kept chanting: muchas gracias, muchas gracias, muchas gracias!

Moonie understood those words clearly and she couldn't help but to shake her head. The lady really needed the job and she was just happy to help. Moonie knew all about struggles and she definitely didn't want to experience that shit again.

She used to eat noodles all day long whenever her aunt ran out of food. Sometimes she would have to make all kinds of shit with a loaf of white bread because there was no lunch meat or noodles. Ketchup, cheese, and peanut butter sandwiches were her bestfriend. When she turned sixteen, she got up on her feet and applied for a job at Rue21-let's just say that she started hustling right then and there. Her struggle meals were over since she could afford to buy her own food. Now, the bitch could eat anywhere she wanted.

Hm, life comes at you fast.

"You ready to get something to eat baby?" Moonie asked Kain while grabbing her purse.

"Yeah." Kain replied back with a blank look on his face.

"Whats the matter?"

"Nothing..." Kain replied back dryly while checking his pockets for his keys. He walked out of the door without letting his wife leave out first-which was unusual.

Moonie hunted for her phone and then she turned the security on and locked the door. She followed behind Kain and noticed that he was already inside of his Range. She frowned up while getting inside.

"You didn't wait for me?"

Kain didn't answer. He was way too busy on his phone.

"What's the matter? What did I do? Are you mad about the nanny?"

"Where you tryna eat at?" Kain asked while backing out of the driveway.

Moonie just sat there and stared at him. "So you're just gonna ignore my questions?"

"That bitch looks like she'll snitch on a nigga." He cursed.

"Kain, you act like she's gonna be full-time. We hired her for part-time from six in the morning until twelve."

"And we're paying her ass twenty-dollars-an hour for that shit?"

"I think she deserves it. She's been a nanny for a good thirteen years. She told me in broken English that it's been a while since she was able to work because of her back surgery. She's been struggling with her bills and I want to help her."
