the slamming of a heavy wooden door,
the piercing sound of metal chairs scraping across the concrete floor,
the drowning of a voice so high pitched and obnoxious,
the feeling of being nauseous,
the covering of ears to escape the noise,
the sprinting from the voice and the fleeing into the garden,
the digging of hands under the soil and into the ground,
the hunting for something lost and never found,
the searching for a piece of treasure left unexplored,
the wondering of a life lived before,
the relaxing of a heart beating swiftly,
the pondering of the future,
the questioning,
the growing impatience,
the profounding revelation that something isn't right,
the acknowledging that some things will never change,
the feeling of something strange,
the disappointing realization that achievements only come to those who achieve,
the reaching for the stars so out of reach,
the standing and brushing of dirt off the knees,
the gathering of thoughts,
the treading of feet in the deep mud,
the gazing of the eyes into the skies,
the beginning of the search for what was lost.
