"The nurse told me you were waiting for me?", Dean asked, taking a seat beside Castiel in the lawn chair next to him.
Cas nodded, eyes closed as usual, as he tried to concentrate on why he had wanted Dean here in the first place.
But, his mind was a blank slate and he honestly didn't have a clue as to why the man with greying hair was there now.
He sighed, tucking his feet under himself, as he tried to get comfortable in the infernal contraption.
When he didn't reply, Dean took it as a cue to start reading, the leather bound book laying open in his lap.
"Now, where did we leave off? Oh, yes... By fall, things had completely changed for Castiel. He now didn't care whether or not he went to school and got his degree, only about Dean Winchester and how much he hated to leave him. It had seemed to go by so fast, that summer. Almost like, someone had wound up a clock and watched it tick until it finally rang, signalling the end. Both were crushed at the thought of leaving each other, Dean going back to work full-time and Cas going off to university. Often, they would promise to write each other letters, so that they'd never really be truly alone, but the plan backfired when Mrs. Angela Novak found out and she made Castiel burn all of them in the fire, instead of sending them to Dean. And while, he didn't know about this, Dean still wrote Cas whenever he could. Even, if it was the most stupidest stuff he could think of to write about, Castiel still loved it. He laughed and sometimes even cried, as he'd read Dean's letters, the paper crumbled from being held for too long in his hands. His heart heavy with sadness, because he could not write him back and let him know how things were. So, for a long while, Castiel was very sad that is, till he met Sarah. Then, things started to change..."
