"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, HE'S DATING A WINCHESTER!", shouted Mrs. Angela Novak angrily, as her daughter Hael told her the news.
"Just what I said, mother. He's dating John's eldest...Dean I believe?"
Her mother nodded, her expression now saddened.
Hael walked closer to her, placing one of her pale white hands on her mother's satin-clad shoulder.
"This is terrible.", she breathed, and Hael looked puzzled.
"Why's that, mother?"
Mrs. Novak sighed, and her cool blue eyes dulled to an even cooler appearing blue.
"Because, he was supposed to go to school for a little while longer, get a degree in medicine, become a doctor and help people. That's what he's wanted to do for basically his whole life. Now, he meets a Winchester boy and it all suddenly goes out the window! Don't you see? He's given up all that! All he cares about now is marrying that stupid b*****d eventually! Nothing else!"
Hael nodded slightly.
It was true.
Cas had stopped talking about becoming a doctor and now, all he talked about was Dean.
It was like the guy was his whole f**king world.
Constantly, he'd tell his family stuff, even if it was the most stupidest thing about Dean imaginable.
His brothers and sisters often complained about how annoying he was now.
They had thought that nerdy awkward teacher's pet Cas was bad, well nerdy awkward head over heels in love Cas, was much worse.
Gabriel teased him about how much he obsessed over Dean.
Even threatened to tell him, just how overly creepy Cas was at times.
But, Castiel didn't really care about any of that.
He was just very happy.
Later, when the Novak family sat down to dinner, the screen door was suddenly flung open and in stepped Castiel.
He was still wearing his fine Sunday best, but to Angela Novak's disgrace, his shirt was partially unbuttoned and the zipper on his black slacks was down, so that if one looked, they could clearly see his white boxers through the gaping hole in the fabric.
Chuck didn't say anything, about his son's appearance, just smiled and gestured for him to take a seat.
But, Angela wasn't so forgiving.
She immediately got up, face turning a deep red colour, and stomped furiously over to her son, slapping him hard across the face.
Cas was taken aback by the action, but quickly understood.
"CASTIEL JONATHAN NOVAK, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, SHOWING UP HERE DRESSED LIKE THAT! I MEAN, YOU'RE BARELY DRESSED AT ALL! WHAT IN TARNATION WERE YOU DOING WITH THAT WINCHESTER BOY?! YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN HOME HOURS AGO! WELL???!"
He sighed, his mother was angry again.
And, maybe she had a right.
After all, it wasn't the first time that he'd came home late...
He ran both hands through his hair, trying to think of a plausible excuse.
"I was out with Dean, yes. But, we weren't partaking in intercourse, mother. We were simply as he put it 'fooling around'."
This did NOT make Angela Novak feel any better.
In fact, it made her feel worse because, she knew that her son was lying.
She swallowed, as she tried to hold back the tears of disappointment, she now felt.
"Baby, why? Why are you so into that Winchester boy? Why aren't you into your studies like you used to be? Why must you be like this?"
Cas didn't know how to relay to that.
His mother only ever called him 'baby', when she was comforting him or was truly concerned for his well-being.
He sighed.
Maybe, it was time she stopped being so overprotective.
"ALRIGHT, FINE MOTHER! FINE! YOU CAUGHT ME! I WAS HAVING INTERCOURSE WITH HIM! OKAY?! BUT, YOU KNOW WHY???! CAUSE, I LOVE HIM, MOTHER! I LOVE HIM! THAT'S WHY! BUT, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND THAT, WOULD YOU! YOU ONLY MARRIED HIM BECAUSE YOU KNEW THAT HE WAS F**KING RICH!"
His mother stood there, a look of astonishment on her face.
A few seconds later, there were tears spilling down her cheeks.
But, Cas didn't move from his spot to go and comfort her, just stood there, watching her cry as the others gathered quickly around her.
Michael stared sternly at him, as did Lucifer.
Even Hael, flashed an angry look at Castiel.
Chuck was the only one who didn't get up from his seat.
Somehow, he knew that this was bound to happen sooner or later.
There was nothing he could do about it.
So later, after Angela Novak had stopped her distressed crying, and she had talked quietly in the parlour with her husband, they decided that they should spend a little time apart from each other for a while.
Then, early the next morning, Chuck Novak said his goodbyes to his family.
He wouldn't see them again till later on, after a family tragedy had occurred, and then one last time before he later accidentally fell off a bridge while he was drunk and drowned.
Cas watched as his parents hugged each other, no loving expressions in either of their eyes.
Maybe, it was best this way.
He thought, wearily.
Maybe, things would change.
Late August arrived and Dean and Castiel had now been together for 3 months.
So much had already happened that summer, Cas wasn't so sure now that he wanted it to end.
Especially, with days like today.
They were sitting outside by the lake, the rest of his family off a ways having a picnic that Cas was not invited to.
Ever since that night, when Cas' father left, his family blamed him constantly for what had happened.
Castiel didn't talk to any of them much anymore, not even Hael.
She now kept her distance from him and spent most of her time at summer acting workshops, only coming home every second weekend.
Cas missed her a lot.
Though, he hadn't known just how much till she had left.
Now, when she did visit, she wasn't the same 'Hael' the one who had constantly badgered him to go on the Ferris wheel with her that day, instead she now had a boyfriend named Tommy and she had dyed her hair platinum blonde, a dramatic change from her use to be jet black locks.
"You excited for school, soon?", Dean asked, breaking Cas from his thoughts.
Castiel shrugged, unsure honestly about how he felt about school now.
Maybe, it was because Dean couldn't afford to go to school anymore, that made him reluctant or, perhaps it was the thought of being in a whole new environment.
Either way, Cas was in no hurry to go back.
"Nah, to tell you the truth, I'm finding the thought of it quite dull. And tell me Dean Winchester, what's the fun in that?"
Dean wasn't sure, but he smiled fondly at him as he pulled him closer.
"I'm not sure, Cas. But, if you wanna do that, then that's fine with me."
Castiel nodded, eyes now fixed upon the curves of Dean's face, as he looked up at him from his lap.
"He has such beautiful eyes", Cas thought.
"What?"
Castiel stiffened suddenly at that, he started to panic.
Had Dean heard him?
"Your eyes.", Cas said, swallowing hard and trying not to worry about what his boyfriend must think of him now.
"They're beautiful. Like, rolling hills. Or, the leaves on the poplars here today."
Dean smiled, silently agreeing.
"I love you.", he told Cas, as his fingers started trailing slowly down his jawline, towards his slightly exposed collarbone.
Castiel sighed, loving the feeling of Dean's hands, as they worked their magic, calming and soothing him, with barely any effort.
They stayed like that, together in the grass, just enjoying the presence of the other, and hoping desperately that it could last forever.
"So, is it true?", Dean asked, his hands stopped trailing over Cas' body and instead, went completely still on the checkered picnic blanket beside him.
"Is what true?"
"You know, about the arrangement."
Castiel felt tears building up as he nodded furiously, trying his hardest not to let them fall down his cheeks.
His next words came out in a choked sob.
"Y-Yes, mother wants me to have a good life, not live in some old rusty dump somewhere. She believes that by me marrying Clara, I can perhaps get over you. Have a more than decent future."
Dean didn't say anything, just nodded.
"She's right about that. Everybody knows that my family is dirt poor and that's why they couldn't put me through college after I graduated. Maybe, it's best this way, but that doesn't matter. Cas, I love you. Ever since the day I first met you at that fair... When I first laid eyes on you...somehow I knew that I'd never be able to let you go ever again."
Castiel knew he was crying because, he felt hot wet tears cascade down his cheeks, could feel the soreness of his swollen eyes.
"No, she's not right. Damn it Dean, I love you! I've loved you, ever since that first night we met at the stupid fair and afterwards, you wanted me to lay with you in the street. Ever since then, my life has changed. Nothing else matters to me anymore, the only thing that's matters is. You. Me. Us.", he said, as he slowly brought his hands up to tangle them tightly in Dean's hair.
Cas felt the feel of Dean's warm breath in his face, could feel the pounding of his heart, as Dean began to lean in towards him.
In his mind, he knew it was wrong, but that didn't really matter to him.
So what, if his mother was going to set him up with a complete stranger for the rest of his life.
So what, if Dean Winchester wasn't the richest man around.
So what, if he didn't dare care about going back to school in the fall.
And, so what if one of his own sisters had basically ignored him for months and was now a stuck-up b**ch.
Who really cared about any of that?
Not Castiel, and he was absolutely positive that Dean didn't either.
That's why, when they finally met in a very passionate kiss, Cas didn't let him pull away from him and out of his reach, too quickly.
He smiled, as there lips molded together, tongues pushing and pressing against each other.
"Don't. Ever. Leave. Me.", Cas managed to get out, before he was pulled into another overly arousing kiss.
In reply, Dean grabbed Castiel harder, stilling kissing him, as they fell back against the blanket.
He smirked then, eyes flicking back and forth between Cas' bright blue eyes and his red kiss-bruised lips.
He chuckled.
"Trust me, you ain't getting rid of me that easily, Cas."
Castiel actually couldn't help but giggle as Dean said that.
Couldn't help but grin, like a sh*t-faced puppy.
"Good. Now, let's get going."
Dean nodded, as Cas got off of him, and straightened his thick black-rimmed frames.
He gave his boyfriend a quick kiss on the lips and began to walk slowly away, staring frequently back at him, questioningly.
"What?", Dean asked.
"You coming?", was all Cas said, as Dean nodded and ran quickly to catch up.
