"We need to talk.", Castiel said plainly, when Dean finally opened the door and just stood there, a little speechless and still very mad.
"Yeah? About what? You made your decision already. It's not like you need ME anymore!"
The other man cringed at his tone, but didn't falter and stuck his foot in the door, when Dean tried to close it.
"Please. Hear me out."
Dean grumbled something about how Castiel was being a 'f**king dumba**' because, he couldn't 'take a f**king hint' and leave him alone.
But, the other man didn't hear him, as he wedged himself through the door a little more, only to be stopped by Dean's sudden vice-like grip on him.
"No! You're gonna f**king talk out here, or you aren't f**king talking at all!"
Cas nodded his head vigorously and tried to swallow down the fear that was beginning to build up.
"O-Okay.", he stammered, before casting Dean a nervous glance.
Dean Winchester seemed pleased by this, because he reached out a hand then, and placed it on Cas' shoulder.
"Talk to me.", he said, his tone much calmer.
And that was when, Castiel Novak actually smiled, because he knew that somewhere deep, way, way, way, down deep in his heart, Dean still felt something for him.
Whether it was love, he didn't know.
But, it was something...
So, with that hopeful thought in his mind, Castiel took a deep breath and said the one thing he had been meaning to say to Dean ever since he'd cheated on him, ever since he had told him about his relationship with Sarah: "I'm sorry."
And, oddly enough, the other man didn't push him away this time.
He just stood there, waiting for the floodgates to open.
For Cas to come back to him.
Which he did, in a multitude of tears that had been held back for months.
"I-I'm sorry, Dean! I-I'm so, so sorry!"
"Shhh, it's okay now, Cas. I've got you. It's okay..."
But, Castiel just shook his head.
"No, it's not! I wrote you, Dean! I wrote you every f**king day because, I missed you! I missed you SO f**king much! But she- She destroyed them! My own mother! I hate her, Dean! I hate her so f**king much! She's the one that did this to us! She's the reason I'm not happily married to you and living in your wonderful house, instead of with a f**king girl! Gosh, I feel SO stupid for ever thinking I could just forget about you...leave you...I can't! I just f**king can't, Dean Winchester! You know why?! CAUSE, I F**KING LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND NO ONE, NOT EVEN MY OWN MOTHER CAN CHANGE THAT! NO ONE!!!"
Dean's eyes filled with tears and he didn't bother wiping them away, as he pulled Castiel towards him and into his arms.
"I love you too, Cas. And, I'm glad you finally came back to me.", Dean said, as he kissed the other man hard on the mouth as the clouds spilled down a tirade of rain around them.
Eventually, both men went into Dean's house, now soaking wet, and wanting the other as close as possible.
Needless to say, by morning, when Castiel woke up the next morning clad in only a red blanket and found Dean outside on the porch looking up at the clear blue sky, he knew that this was where he belonged.
This was where he wanted to stay for the rest of his life.
In the house that Dean had bought and renovated, together, and maybe eventually some children as well.
Castiel wanted to get married to Dean here and kiss him on the lawn, where they had finally found each other, once again.
He didn't care if he ever saw his mom, his brothers and sisters, or Sarah ever again, all he wanted was to have the life that he always wanted.
The one where Dean Winchester was his whole entire universe and nobody could change that.
