First day! Kill me now!

"GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED!"
That was all the warning I had until an entire bucket of freezing cold water was dunked on my still sleeping body. Isn't my brother the sweetest?
I shot up, air was non existent in my lungs and I was gasping to get some sort of oxygen to my brain. It would suck to be as dumb as the idiot who was standing in front of me currently... no wait, I'm safe, it's impossible to be that stupid.

"YOU DICK! What was that for!?" I screamed at the chuckling asshat.
"It's Monday, time for school." He said in a duh tone once he recovered from his laughing fit.
"And you couldn't have woken me like a normal person?" I asked, now starting to shiver.
My brother stood there for a moment, one eyebrow raised in an 'are-you-serious?' look.
"Since when are we a normal family? We use guns on a daily basis and never a day goes by that we don't blow something up." He deadpanned.

I was about to reply, my mouth open and words about to form, but then I realised that he was right... damnit!
"Whatever, now get out so I can get ready." I pushed him out of my room.

That was Jess. My eldest brother and the heir of my family's gang, the Southside Serpents. I know, it sounds like every gang name in every story you have ever read, but alas, we are who we are. And might I just say, we are quite feared.

I walked to my bathroom. Yes, that's right, I have an en-suite. Read it and weep.
After closing the door I stripped off my now fully soaked pyjamas and walked into the beautifully warm water of the shower. I washed my hair, since today was my first day at my new school and I haven't washed it in ages.

Don't judge! Why waste all that energy when all I've been doing is sitting around watching tv? Where's the point?

After refreshing myself, I dressed in my usual day wear: black ripped jeans, a black flowing singlet top and a khaki green leather jacket over the top.
I dried my hair the best I could with the towel, my usually blond hair now looking brown thanks to the water.

I made my way downstairs and was greeted by the lovely sound of my brothers shouting at each other.
"It's only a paper cut!" I heard Jess' voice say.
"A paper cut!? A PAPER CUT!? ITS THE LENGTH OF MY BLOODY ARM!" Came the screams of my other brother, Cameron.

I had reached the bottom of the stairs and as I peered into the kitchen, I was faced with this lovely sight: Cameron standing at the kitchen counter with a gash running the length of his forearm and Jess sitting on the stool on the other side of the kitchen island with a rather large knife in his hand that has a faint smear of blood on it. Oh my...

This was the time that my best friend came into the picture. "Oh relax." Blair said to Cameron. "I'm sure you've had worse." She rolled her eyes at my brother.

"Yes but this is different." He pouted.
"How?"
"IT WAS MY BROTHER WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE!" He burst.
"Oh grow up." She said before going back to cutting up something.

I walked through the door, all eyes on me.
"What?" I stopped and just looked at them.
"Aren't you going to dress... not like a gang leaders daughter?" Cameron asked, now suddenly forgotten about the gash on his arm that he was previously squealing like a 3 year old girl about.

"Aren't you going to be less of a jackass?" I retorted, continuing walking to the fridge and rolling my eyes.
"If you get discovered, then we are all screwed." Jess pointed out.
"Thank you for that captain obvious! I'm afraid I'm all out of first place medals, but if you stick your head far enough into a bin, then I'm sure you will find some sort of peace in finding your true home!" How am I related to these idiots? I opened the fridge door and rummaged around before deciding on just an apple.

"Please, I'm pretty sure he somehow came from a hollow in a tree! That's how dumb he is!" Blair inputted. I walked over to her and gave her a high five.

You must be wondering where our parents are. Well, they don't live with us. They live at the base so that it's easier to run things. Plus, it's not exactly in a good part of town and mum wanted us to have a good education. So since Jess is 21, he is our 'guardian'. Cameron is my twin, and is therefore 18 like me! And why's Blair here? Well she just didn't want to live with her parents anymore and wanted a break from the gang life so she came to live with us too. Yeah... it was a smarter idea in theory then actuality... oh well! Not like mum and dad need to know what happens when they're not around!

Blair is the same age as Cameron and me. Her black hair made her purple streaks stand out and with her dark makeup, she looked stunning and mysterious. She's gonna be turning many heads today. Especially with her black midriff top and light blue high waisted jeans that hugged her hips perfectly.

I crunched down on the apple, but didn't take it out of my mouth as I quickly ran upstairs and grabbed my bag and threw it on my back as I picked up my shoes. I skipped back down the steps, grabbed Blair by the arm and said goodbye to my brothers. Although, with an apple in my mouth it kinda came out more like a dying dolphin.

Once we were out the door, Blair ran to my beauty of a car. A black ford f100. It's a truely beautiful creature.
I got in, threw my bag next to me, as the front seat is literally just one couch, and stuck the key in the ignition. It roared to life and purred angrily as I pulled out of my driveway.

"First day! Kill me now!" Blair sang in the passenger seat. The school wasn't too far away, just five minutes if traffic lights decided to be nice. Which they never are...
I nodded my agreement to her statement. "Just another school filled with bitchy girls, jerk boys and a whole lot of teachers that would rather be literally anywhere then teaching a bunch of teenagers who couldn't care less." I stated. I was dreading this day, and I really want nothing more then to ditch. Unfortunately though, if I do then I will have Jess on my back and making my life hell. He is a lot like dad in the way of 'punishments'. I guess it's his practice for when he's the leader.

The school was now just a couple of meters away. And let me tell you- it was BIG!
How the hell do they expect us to find our way around? School? More like prison with that gate around it! Blair groaned in her seat and grumbled under her breath what I'm sure is along the same lines as what I was thinking... maybe with a little extra personality...

My car growled as I pulled into a free park and heads turned to see the new girls. Some whistles could be heard, other people were trading theories. Nosey Parker's need to learn that somethings just aren't their business.

Once I grabbed my bag which had fallen onto the floor and pulled on my black boots, I slammed my door closed and started walking with Blair to the school.
And so it begins...
