"Wait... I remember now. He sold your daughter out to keep his job." I said.

"Ever wondered why those arrogant Angels and self-imposed defenders of time never dwindle in numbers?" He began.

"He's not doing his job." I replied.

"Despite having books recording anything and everything, even you have your limits. My daughter was supposed to take his place, but he didn't like that idea. The gods of his universe also didn't like the idea of having a Death that actually did their job wondering about. Also I'm not the only Death that despises him. Agree to my request and you will have very powerful allies. So do we have a deal?" He asked.

"Meet me in the corrupted section of the library." I said.

"Excellent." He said before quickly vanishing.

"Taking sides are we now?" He asked.

"We share a body and mind. You would have done the same." I said.

"You're not wrong, but still you know it's forbidden to interfere with the decisions of the Divine." He said.

"Are you saying you care what gods say?" I asked.

"No I'm just saying you are the last person I'd expect to side against gods." He said.

"We were created to ensure order and the recording of history and knowledge. If those gods try to interfere with our job, well it's only fair we do whatever it takes to ensure we can do our job." I replied.

"Well well well... Looks like you're not an absolute tool after all." He said.

"Hey what happened?" Supea asked. I glanced at her and luckily she was fully clothed.

"I had a bit of a discussion with someone. Apparently they seem to be having a bit of a... Disagreement with their co-worker." I replied.

"Okay?" She mumbled.

"Let's get going we have an interrogation to perform." I said.

"Right... I want to know the people responsible with my father's assassination." She said.

"Where are we?" Supea asked. We were surrounded by black withered trees that pulsed as though they had a heart beat. The sound of whispers can be heard just behind our view. The grass would shift away with every step and every blade of grass faced us as though they were watching us move through the dark woods.

"Stay close. You don't want to get lost here." I said. Supea began to walk closer and grabbed my coat with one hand.

"Okay, but what is this place?" She asked again.

"Where the darkest and horrific secrets of the universe are kept. If I'm prepared the books here could drive one mad." I replied, "Or worse."

"I see..." She said clinging closer to me, "And the whispering?" She asked.

"Ignore them. Listening to them would only bring you misfortune." I added.

It took an hour before we made it to our destination. Our prisoner was held down by the trees and the more he struggled the more the roots gripped his flesh.

"Let me handle this."

"Sure thing." I replied as I felt my control released to my other half.

"So what do we ask him?" Supea asked.

"I got this. Don't worry about it." I said as I approached the poor bastard.
