ch 17

Asher's POV-

Spring break is almost over. Kinda stupid.

Today I'm going to the beach with Abigail because she wants to hang out with her friends.

We were inside the car when a random question of mine popped up.

"Abigail, did you know Ryder Smith?" She looks at me wide-eyed and starts tearing up. "He-he was the only one that was nice to me." I stop at a gas station and give her a hug while stroking her hair.

"We will go inside and get all the snacks you want, okay?" She nods and wipes her tears.

Should I tell Ana this... No.

The girl at the cashier looks my age and she is being annoyed. She is bending at an angle so I can see her breast.

Does she think I'm new to this bullshit?

"That girl likes you." Abi giggles. I playfully roll my eyes and nudge her head ruining her hair.

At this point she is laughing so damn hard she can barely breathe.

The car roars along with Abi, "You ready munch?" She looks at me and nods her head.

Off we go to the beach.

Abigail is helping me set up the blanket and snacks. "Can I have snacks now?" Pouting her lips. I just nod.

I stick the umbrella in the ground and being out of the water bottles from my car.

"All set," I say. "Yay." She laughs and skips over.

We both stop and look at the puppy a little boy around her age is carrying. She giggles and runs up to it. "Puppy puppy!" Her hands high up in the air.

"Can I pet it please." Holding her hands together and begging. "Yeah, you can."

"Let's play!" The little boy nods and they walk up to make sandcastles and shit.

I go back to our area and watch them. I look around the beach and see a girl around my age. The girl looks at me and smiles with a shy wave. I smile, reminds me of Anastasia.

This girl is tall, blonde, blue eyes, a nice body, and she has the same exact look as the little boy Abi is playing with. I'm guessing that is her little brother.

"Hey!" She smiles big. "Hi," I say coldly. She is a bit taken back but I tend not to care.

Back to the heartless Asher, I go. "What is your name?" She asks. I shrug in response.

I turn to the beach and put my sunglasses on. "Oh, come on let's have fun." She says seductively. "Look, your little seduce shit doesn't work on me so scram." She rolls her she's and stomps away.

3 hours pass. Abi is still playing with the little boy and that girl is staring at me nonstop. I roll my eyes and flip her off not caring enough to look at her.

The sun was setting and I was ready to go home. "Abi, we have to go now!" I yell.

She gets up and wipes the sand off her and says bye to the boy and his puppy.

*T H E   NEXT   MORNING*

It's 1 in the afternoon and I just some up. I got no plans today so I decided to just say home.

My phone rang and the number is unknown but I answer it anyway.

Me- who is this

Unknown- hey it's violet, i need your help mister

I roll my eyes.

Me- hell no i don't-

Violet- no wait please, Anastasia's birthday is in 3 days and i need help setting it up. She won't get too suspicious, i think she forgot her birthday.

What the hell, Ana's birthday is in 3 days and no one told me till now?

Me- fine. Text me where to go.

I then hang up, get the text, and get ready.

My phone lights up.

Violet- oh also bring snacks u miserable barbarian

I sigh and grunt.

Whole Foods is packed with people today what the hell.

I head over to the area of the chips and grab whatever I see, along with, candy, cookies, gum, gummies, I literally bought the whole snack section.

The penthouse was definitely huge. The windows filled up the walls, the kitchen was modern, the couches we're different, the whole place gives off a chill vibe for sure.

I kinda like it.

"Hey grumpy, give me the snacks." I grab the big bags that have the snacks in them and hand em over. "I told you to bring snacks, not the whole damn store!" I roll my eyes and plunge down on the couch.

"Are you and Ana like..." she asks as she looks at me expectantly.

I shake my head no. "Oh come.on, you both like each other it's so obvious. You guys just don't know it yet. It's all hidden feelings." I look at her then lean my head back, close my eyes, and think.

Do I like Anastasia? No, we are just friends. I don't date. Love isn't real. Relationships don't last.

"Loren help me set these up. Asher do you know what the plan is?" I look up, "No."

"Okay so I will find a way to get Ana over here and when she opens the door, obviously everyone yells surprise. Her close friends will be spending the night here, so that means you too. There is a pool in the backs and the volleyball gym is downstairs. Let's all hope she loves it." I look at her in shock. "All that for a birthday?" I ask. She rolls her eyes and sets up the streamers.

....

"Yay Ashy is home!" Abi calls from across the hall. I laugh and hold my arms out. She comes running and jumps into my arms. "Let's go watch a movie!"

I set up the TV and get snacks from the kitchen. When I walk back, Abi is choosing a movie. Smart for a 7-year-old.

We decided to watch Moana since she adores that movie. While she watches, I space off thinking about what Violet said today.

I don't like Anastasia.

I carry Abigail up to her room since she is already fast asleep. I then proceed to walk back downstairs and grab my phone on the couch to make a call.

Hey, dude, can you meet me and a broken bridge?

Yeah sure man, see you in 10.

"So you basically came here to tell me that you don't know your feelings or what feelings are?' I stare at him a little angry because yeah, how do feelings work?

'Maybe you don't, maybe you do. Maybe it's hidden feelings man."

"Funny, that's what your little girlfriend told me," I say with a chuckle. "Let me guess, she made you help with the party?" I roll my eyes and sigh dramatically.

...

I'm in bed thinking about how my unknown feelings towards Anastasia.
