**--------------------------------------------------**

"I know." He paused, "Wait, what's tomorrow?"

"Thursday?"

"Damn it!"

"Mad you have to go to school or that you're going to fail the upcoming English test?" I asked.

"Both. And I'm not going to fail. I just don't wanna take it." He whined.

"Whatever. It's not my problem and it certainly isn't any of my business." I said, parking and hopping out. Cace trudged behind me.

"If I stand next to the textbooks, will I absorb the knowledge?"

"No."

"What if I sleep on it?"

"No."

"Lucky rabbit's foot?"

"No."

"Four leaf clover?"

"No."

"What about-"

"What about if you actually take the time to study?" I said, annoyed.

"What's that?"

I threw my hands up in exasperation and stalked into the store, "I can't with you!"

"What?" He asked, "That's a valid question."

"You should have learned to study in 2nd grade!"

"You're still not giving me any clues as to what it is."

"Clearly you don't need it."

"Fine, I'll find out myself."

"Please don't-"

"Excuse me, sir."

"-Ask the clerk." I sighed, clearly having been ignored.

"What can I help you with?" The man replied.

"What is studying?"

I walked off, "Please don't answer him. He's an idiot." I called over my shoulder.

I sifted through the shelves and Cace came back.

"I don't think I've ever studied before."

I waited, because there was no way this was true.

"My mom made me do this thing can stoodying though. I wonder if they're similar." He pulled out his phone and called her.

"Mom."

I sighed, poor woman.

"Are stoodying and studying similar?"

"They're the same you've been saying it wrong." I tried.

"What do you mean you don't know? You used to tell me I had to stoody for texts."

"Ohhh." He muttered, "Thanks."

He hung up and I gave him a second to come to terms with his stupidity.

"She said they're the same. I always said it wrong."

"If you had listened to me, I could have told you that and you wouldn't have hassled your mother." I said.

"Well, I didn't know."

"That much was obvious." I said under my breath and looked at another book.

"What's that one about?"

"Supernatural and paranormal?" I said, still guessing myself.

"Like what?"

"Lycanthropes."
