Y/N's POV
I was sitting in my bed waiting for my boyfriend CJ to get home from basketball practice while I was on the phone with my bestfriend, Grayson. "Then I replaced E's hoodies with only my suits so he had to go to Starbucks in a suit that barely fits", he said as he laughed. "Why the fuck would you do that Gray?", I laughed. "I had to get him back for spraying Daddy on my baby blue porsche". "You're fucking cra-", I suddenly cut myself off as I heard the door open. I knew that CJ was home and he was gonna flip knowing that I was talking to Grayson. "Um, Gray I gotta go. My mom is calling me but I'll text you later". "Oh, ok. Talk to you later. Love you bestie". I wanted to say love you too but I heard CJ coming into the room so I just quickly hung up the phone. "Hey baby, how was practice?". "It was fine", he said bluntly. I could tell he was mad about something because he's mad most of the time. "What's wrong CJ?", I said as I rubbed his shoulders. He jerked himself away from me and laughed sarcastically. "So now you wanna play dumb with me? You know exactly what you did. You've been talking to that fucking douche Jayson and you're cheating on me!". I had enough of his accusations and I decided to stand up for myself. That was never a good idea with CJ. "I've never cheated on you. Even after all the shit you've put me through these last 8 months and you know what? I'm fucking sick of it and GRAYSON for your information is my bestfriend and cares about me way more than you ever have", I finished as I took a breath. Without hesitation, CJ walked slowly towards me and I slowly backed up until I ran into the wall. He put his hand around my neck and tightened his grip. "Listen here bitch, I don't know where you got this "confidence" to talk to me like that from but I do know that I'm not letting you off without a beating", he said as he slapped me and punched me in the side. I fell down but I still had enough energy to kick him in the nuts. "Oh, you're gonna pay for that bitch". He stomped over to his alcohol cabinet and aggressively opened a bottle of Hennessy. He chugged basically all of it down his throat before he smashed the bottle right next to me. I'd be lying if I said this was the first time he's done this to me. "I'm going out. If you tell anybody about what happened today, I'll make sure your life is a living hell". He left and slammed the door. That was when I broke down. I was depressed, scared, and mad at myself for staying in this abusive relationship. He was never like this in the beginning. He was caring, complimented me every day, and I believed that he actually loved me and that we were going to get married. But one night we got into this huge fight about him being overprotective and that night was the first time he hit me but he said it was an "accident" and promised me he would never do it again. Now 8 months later, I'm still with him and haven't told anyone what he does to me because he's threatened me multiple times. As I was crying, I got a text from Grayson. "I'm bored so I'm coming over. Be there in 15. Love you😁". I frantically got up and started to clean up the mess in the bedroom. I couldn't let Grayson see any of this.
Gray's POV
I had just texted Y/N that I was on the way to her house because I'm so bored and Ethan was hanging out with Emma so I was all alone. I'm really hoping that Y/N's boyfriend, CJ, isn't here. I fucking hate him. He acts like every guy that comes in contact with Y/N is gonna try and hook up with her. Also, I have a big crush on her and we never get to be alone due to the fact that CJ is always around. I parked my baby blue porsche in her driveway and walked to the door. As I knocked, I heard shuffling noises in the house but soon heard the door unlock. She was dressed in a tupac hoodie and some biker shorts with nike slides. "Hey Grayson", she said as her voice cracked. I could tell something was wrong because she never uses my full name and her face looks like she's been crying. "Hey Y/N, I brought over your favorite movie, Friday and some snacks." "Thanks, um come on in", she said as she stepped to the side and let me in. I set down all of the items on the coffee table and put in the movie. "Hey, so why did you hang up on me so quickly earlier?", I said. "Oh because CJ came home and he wanted me to do something so I had to hang up". "Oh, ok". I knew she was lying. I've known her almost my whole life. I had a question that I really wanted to ask her because she was definitely hiding something but I didn't know if I was ready for the answer. "Y/N?" "Hmm?" "You know that we're bestfriends and you can tell me anything right?" "What are you getting at Gray?" "Is CJ abusing you?".
Y/N's POV
There was no turning back now. He obviously knew what was going on. I kept my eyes on the tv as I felt tears start to run down my face. "Y/N", Grayson said sympathetically as he hugged me but it hurt since CJ used me as his human punching bag earlier. "Ow", I winced when he hugged me. "Did he hurt you today?" I nodded as I sobbed into his shoulders. "Why didn't you tell anyone Y/N?" "Because he threatened my life. He said if I told anybody, he would hurt me more. I promise I was going to tell you Grayson. It's been the worst 8 months of my life and I feel so dumb because I didn't stand up for myself until today and he didn't like that". "Well, now that I know, I'm gonna make his life a living hell for hurting you. You don't deserve this baby. You need a man who can treat you like the queen that you are". He looked into my eyes then at my lips and I knew what was coming so I grabbed his face and kissed him. It was the kiss I had been waiting for. A kiss that I had never felt with CJ. This was different. He pulled away and I smiled as he grabbed my chin to make me look into his eyes. "I love you so much Y/N". "I love you too Gray."
