I slipped the love letter in Senpai's locker before running to hide. I eagerly peeked my head out to wait for him.
I waited for a long time, but I didn't mind. I'll do anything for Senpai.
In my note, I told him to go under the cherry blossom tree on the hill and wait for me. I expressed my sincerity for him. I would wait to tell him about my love in person.
Senpai walked to his locker. At the sight of him, my heart sped up. I blushed as I thought about our future together. After all of these obstacles, Senpai will finally be mine. Those troublesome girls were my obstacles. I had to get rid of them all.
"Hey!" Kokona said as she saw me.
She was a rival, but I set her up with another boy. His name was irrelevant to me. I only cared about the fact that he liked Kokona and he could make her fall out of love with MY senpai.
"Hi," I said in a bored tone as I watched Senpai read my note. He clutched the note tightly. Was he happy?
"Are you listening?" Kokona asked. She apparently have been talking while I was ogling Senpai.
I angrily turned to her. "What?!"
I turned back to look at Senpai but he was gone. Ignoring Kokona, I ran the long distance to the Cherry Blossom Tree.
I ran quickly. When I arrived, I saw him waiting. I jogged up to him and smiled. I'll do anything for my Senpai.
He was panting from running so long. "How are you not tired?" He gasped as he doubled over.
I shyly smiled and began to relay the words I spent countless hours memorizing. This moment was perfect. It was everything I imagined.
"Hello Senpai. I'm glad you decided to come meet me. I never felt anything towards other people. When I first saw you, I felt happiness! I know this is love and I never experienced this before! You make me feel things! I have a crush on you and I LOVE you. Please accept my feelings."
I looked up at him as he frowned. My eyes widened. Did he not like my confession?
"Listen Ayano," Senpai said. "I think it's good that I made you feel something but I'm sorry! I can't return your feelings. I don't really want to have a lover right now." He laughed as if that would fix everything.
I stared at him, not comprehending anything he said.
"But-But I-"
"I'm so sorry," He said.
I fell onto the grass and watched him walk away. He had a skip in his step as he walked down the hill.
I was devastated and angry. It's because I'm not good enough, right? I angrily scratched my face when I felt a wetness there. It was tears. Was I crying? I never cry. I was right to think Senpai could make me feel things. After he walked out of my life, I'm still feeling.
Not anymore.
When I was in my normal emotionless state, nothing bothered me. Not even him. I angrily rubbed my teary eyes and forced myself to get up.
I could be emotionless again but that doesn't mean I have to be a loner. Why can't I pay attention to everything around me?
I walked down the hill and forced myself to look bored.
I saw Senpai near the entrance of the school talking to Kokona. She saw me and waved a hand. Senpai followed her gaze and went to raise his hand too. I ignored them as I brushed past them.
I was a fool to try to get his attention. Those people I killed...what was I doing? They definitely deserved it so I didn't mind. Senpai would've probably said yes to their confessions anyway.
I walked the long distance to my house. It was empty. My parents lived in another country for "business". Who knows what they're really doing? I didn't care anyway.
I took out my phone and threw it angrily at a wall.
I slipped off my clothes and turned the water in the bathroom to the hottest it could go. I relished in the pain. After changing into my pajamas, I brushed my teeth and went to my room. To make sure I wasn't angry, I took a butter knife and slowly slit my palm. I watched the blood in satisfaction. I didn't bother to bandage my wound.
I walked to my bed before quickly turning around. I forgot about my Senpai Shrine! It held everything he touched! Before school, I usually sat in front of my shrine and played with the items my Senpai laid his hands on. Now I despise it.
I eye the rotten apple with anger. It had Senpai's teeth marks on it. I used to touch the teeth marks and smile happily. That has changed. I angrily watched each item.
Senpai's toothbrush that I liked to lick. A bandaid that still had some of Senpai's blood. Some gum Senpai spit out. A strand of hair. I growl in anger as I think about the humiliation. I pick up the picture I had of him and threw it away.
Should I kill Senpai? Yes.
No.
I shouldn't. He might've told people I confessed and he rejected it. If he turns up dead, they'll automatically accuse me.
And they'll be right.
I can't do it. I have to be smart about it. I have been feeling angry because of this rejection. I need a clear head to think properly. Tomorrow, I'll definitely try to greet some people.
Unless.....I kill again. Killing people set off some kind of joy in me. I remember when I kidnapped that weird girl and tortured her to kill one of my rivals. It worked out so well! She killed Osana while everyone watched in horror and then stabbed herself.
Osana....she was Senpai's friend. They were childhood friends. I knew she liked him, even if she called him names and beat him up. She always blushed whenever she called him 'dummy'.
She had been my first kill.
I regret to say it but now, I don't mind if someone goes after my Senpai. I can't even say he's mine anymore. I despise him with all my heart.
Tomorrow is a new day after all.
