Twenty Five. Working So Hard

Jalynn P.O.V.

"It's done." Dash said and we all looked over.

"The tags are registered to Alix Anderson with the address 8213 Brown Station Rd. That's in Maryland." Cam said.

"You knew she had a house there?" Dash asked looking at Jayda.

"No. She never came home. Always somewhere else. It's a lot I didn't know."

"So what now?" I asked sighing.

"Now you need to eat."

"What? No. We gotta go look for them." I said.

"Jalynn." Heaven said looking at me. "We can't just walk in there. These people have guns. We don't know how many people are in there. We have to plan it out. And get our strength. So eat. And sleep. We'll talk in the morning."

"So what we just let them suffer all night?"

"We can't help them if we dead. Just let them come up with a plan. They know what they're doing." she said looking at Cam and Dash.

We all sat staring at our plates of spaghetti hardly eating.

"Eat something." Cam said looking at me.

"You eat." I said.

He stood up and I heard him go down into the basement slamming the door. I felt guilty because I know he only cared so I took a few bites.

"I'm not hungry." I said getting up and walking upstairs to my room.

All I wanted right now was a shower so that's what I did.

When I got out I changed into some Adidas pants and a tanktop.

I found some leggings and a t-shirt and grabbed a towel for Heaven taking it down to her.

"Thanks." she said.

"Where's Rah?"

"Shower." Dash said walking in. "You ain't see he got cut Jalynn?"

"No. What?" I said jogging up the stairs.

I ran into him coming out of Jayda's bathroom with some shorts and no shirt. That's when I noticed the stitches on his waist.

"Who did that?" I said pointing.

"Dash. He was pretty good."

"What happened?"

"It was a tree when we was running. I'm good though."

"You should've said something."

"You don't gotta worry about me." he said as we walked into my room.

We climbed under my covers. I felt a little weird. I've never slept with another boy before. Especially not a boyfriend.

I laid my head down on his chest as he wrapped his arm around me.

"Get some sleep it's been a long day." he said rubbing my back. Eventually I fell asleep.

the next day...

I woke up to Rah running his hand through my hair. I didn't move or say anything. I was at peace right here. I didn't want to end it and face the reality waiting for me outside of my room.

"Good morning." he said wrapping his arm around me.

"Good morning."

"How did you sleep?"

"Good surprisingly considering what's going on."

"That's good."

"Can we just stay here?" I said sighing moving deeper under the blanket.
