Dream #4
A wonderland of purple-flowered vines crawls up trellises on either side of me. Somewhere beyond those flowers, Will waits for me.
I call out to him, but he doesn't respond. I search for an opening in the wall of flowers. Turning a corner, I encounter another wall of vines. And then another. And another. I'm lost in a maze of purple.
Will is in danger. I can sense it.
Running, I call for him again and again. No answer.
I run faster and faster. The labyrinth of flowers becomes a violet blur.
When I reach the center of the maze, a statue of a tawny-colored panther perpetually growls from atop a fountain with a surrounding pond.
I'm breathless. My heart's pounding.
"Will!" I call again.
I thought you wanted to be left alone, Will's thoughts finally reach me.
"I don't know what I want anymore," I call out, knowing he can't hear my thoughts without touching me.
Why did you come here? He asks.
"I don't know...I need to talk to you."
Then, stop running away from me.
