Alby's eyes widened when he saw me. « How in the world.... » he started, but Frypan interrupted him.
« Now that I think of it, Alby, did we vote to banish Kathryna? »
Alby looked away and shook his head.
« So I thought, » said Frypan, his voice suddenly very cold. « Listen Alby, you might be the shucking leader 'round here, but it ain't a reason to decide of someone's banishment on your own, get me? And you might be the shucking leader 'round here, but if Council votes for it..... you can get banished as well. »
A mutter of approvement rose from the cooks.
« Is this a threat? » asked Alby with a strangely calm voice.
« Just a warning. And there ain't gonna be another one. »
