Chapter 1-

"Are we there yet Mommy?" My little sister asked blinking up at my Mother while grabbing a hold of her hand. I rolled my eyes at the exchange as my Mom and her friends laughed. Fools. They're falling for her little trap, but I know the truth. She's evil.

It wasn't obvious at first. When she was a baby she would only throw up on me and no one else. Everyone told me it was because she was a baby but that's when I grew suspicious. When she was three years old she painted our old cat, Pickles, with red paint and tried to blame it on me. Three years old! Poor Pickles. May she rest in peace. Her death was unrelated, natural causes, but I'm sure the color red traumatized her after that.

"Sweetie we haven't even left yet. We're saying goodbye to our friends then we will be on the way to our new home." Mom said giving her a warm smile. I turned to my old house to stop myself from rolling my eyes again. It was a beautiful small home. Nice gray exterior with a stone pathway leading to the front door. This place was where the magic happened. It was where I took my first steps. Where I watched Big Bang Theory re-runs for hours. Where I chased a boy for an hour trying to give him my first kiss. It was home.

Goodbye home. I won't forget you. I will always bring you up during awkward silences at the dinner table. Suddenly I was tapped on the shoulder. I turned around to see my two best friends standing there.

"I can't believe this is happening. That you are actually leaving." Monica said, engulfing me in a hug. Luke, my guy best friend, was next. He also happened to be Monica's boyfriend. That's right folks. I am a certified third wheeler. If anyone needs a third wheel for their date I have good reviews and some references. Luke awkwardly patted me on the back before pulling away.

"Me either. I figured you would hide in your closet while your parents were leaving," Luke said with a little laugh.

"Trust me I thought about it, but Lexi would have ratted me out. You should thank your lucky stars you have a little brother. Girls are evil." I said while pulling a piece of wool off of my shirt.

"Look on the bright side. Maybe there will be plenty of hot guys with nice butts at your new school." Luke said in a high-pitched voice. We laughed while pushing Luke a little when the sudden sound of a horn scared us. We looked over to see Mom already seated in the front seat tapping her wrist. Oh okay. I get it. She can say goodbye to her friends, but I can't say bye to mine.

I looked back at my two best friends with tears in my eyes. Monica looked like she was trying to hold back some herself. Luke looked like he rather be in front of his PS5 right now. You would think after, basically, a lifelong friendship that he could at least not look bored as I'm leaving.

"My life is going to suck without you two." I said giving them a sad smile.

"You'll be fine. I'm the one still stuck with Luke," Luke gasped and looked at her accusingly as she continued, "At least you won't have to deal with Tiffany anymore." She said trying to brighten my depressed mood. I put my hand on Monica's shoulder and gave her a dramatic look.

"No matter where I go. There will always be a Tiffany there to wreak havoc." Mom honked the horn again ruining my display of amazing acting skills. Geez, someone give this lady a Xanax. Wait would that help? I don't know drugs!

"I should go before she pops a vein." I shuddered at the imagery and gave them both a quick hug before hopping on the-just kidding, getting in the passenger seat of the car.

"You better call when you get there!" Monica shouted as Mom backed out of the driveway. Where did her friends go?

"We'll see!" I shouted back getting the finger in return. Then we were off.
