"Marinette!"

All of the sudden, while talking to Alya, Marinette found herself enveloped in Adrien's arms. She laughed and rubbed his back.

"Hey, chéri."

Adrien pressed a kiss to her cheek. "I missed you!"

"But I called you yesterday." Marinette told him, not even trying to get out of his embrace.

Adrien shook his head. "Not good enough. Phones can't hug."

Alya laughed as Adrien melted onto Marinette, his face hidden in her neck.

"Well, you two have certainly become really close."

The teens pulled from their embrace to see Lila's anger hidden by the fakest smile they'd ever seen.

Marinette's eyes narrowed. "Yes, we have."

Lila ignored Marinette completely and turned to Adrien with a sweet smile. "So Adrien! Has your father reconsidered letting me over to your place again?"

Marinette bit the inside of her mouth and discreetly slipped her hand into Adrien's to which he caressed with his thumb.

"No, sorry." Adrien chuckled nervously. "Marinette is the only person allowed over."

Lila's eyes widened for a moment before she regained her cool. "That's too bad. Why do you think that is? What's different about Marinette?"

Adrien only shrugged, desperately wanting her to leave him alone as held Marinette's hand tighter.

"There must be something." Lila continued. "She must be special if your super strict father only lets her over."

Adrien smiled, nodding as his cheeks faded into a light blush. "I love her. That's why, Lila. She's apart of my family. My father adores her too."

Marinette blushed deeply as Adrien openly stated that she was his family.

"I see." Lila said, clearly becoming irritated. "Well, what brought on your father's sudden change of heart of letting anyone into your home?"

Adrien looked to Marinette as if to ask her to explain.

The pigtailed girl merely shrugged. "I honestly have know idea. Gabriel and I ran into each other last week and he randomly started asking me if Adrien seemed okay in school. I told him the dead honest truth and said that he seemed sad sometimes. So, he asked me to hang out with Adrien after school. I don't know what brought him to do that but I guess someone made him realize Adrien was lonely."

Lila's eye twitched with infuriation. "Are you kidding me?!"

Her lash out surprised everyone in the room considering she usually presented herself so calmly and sweetly. She gave a slight gasp as her eyes shifted across the room, seeing many shocked faces in her peripheral vision. She inhaled before speaking again.

"Sorry. It's just that I was the one who told his father that Adrien was lonely and that he needed someone to talk to his age." She explained. "I just assumed I'd be that person."

Lila wasn't lying this time. Adrien and Marinette could feel it. Marinette couldn't help but giggle at the manipulative girl's failed attempt of getting closer to Adrien. Nonetheless, she was extremely grateful.

"So you are responsible for getting these two together?" Alya asked cheerfully, and Lila nodded slowly. "Oh my Gosh! Yes, girl! That is the best thing you could have done!"

Lila held a gentle smile. "Yeah, I guess it doesn't matter who Adrien hangs out with as long as he's happy."

Adrien smiled widely. "I am so happy, Lila! Thank you so much!"
