Don't Leave

~Selene~
I closed my eyes as the twins buried their faces into my fur and whined. Please don't leave me. I've been alone for far too long. I pleaded to them, opening my eyes and turning to look at them.

Pietro looked me in the eyes, "Нам очень жаль, Волчица." (We are so sorry, She-wolf.) As his eyes teared up, his voice wavered. "Мы никогда не забудем тебя." (We will never forget you.) He wrapped his arms around my neck.

Wanda threw her arms around her brother and my neck and sobbed into my chest. "Мы так любим тебя, Луна." (We love you so much, Luna.) I tucked my head over them and wrapped a paw around them. Tears fell from my eyes.

I whined and huffed at them. Are you going to leave me here, alone? As my heart tightened, I could feel the anxiety building up. Please. Everyone else has abandoned me. Don't be another to do so.

"Привет. Меня зовут Наташа. Прошу прощения за беспорядок, который моя команда устроила в вашем доме." (Hello. My name is Natasha. I'm sorry for the mess my team made of your home.) I looked up to see a red-haired woman approaching us. She kneeled to me, and everyone watched with bated breath.

"Nat?" A man with a bow aimed at me questioned the woman.

"Put down the bow, Clint. She's not going to hurt us. Or she would've done so already." She scolded the man holding the bow. She stood up and began to approach me with her head lowered.

I was shocked to see a human with this much respect, so I chuffed at her. I like you, Natasha. You're respectful, which is unusual for a human. Raise your head.

The twins looked at each other in confusion. Wanda let go of my neck and turned to Natasha. "She said she likes you and that your respect is unusual for a human. She wants you to raise your head."

She slowly did as was told. So I leaned forward and nudged her arm with my nose, letting her know that it was okay to pet me. "You're a very pretty волчица. Now, aren't you?" She ran her hand softly along my muzzle. "I know you want to protect the twins, and I can see the pain in your heart, but we need them back. I promise to keep them safe for you."

The flying man from before cleared his throat. "What the hell is going on here?"

~No One~
Tony eyed the wolf and raised his hand, aiming at it. "What is that thing?"

"She's not a thing, Tony." Natasha threw a glare at him. "She's a living being. She deserves respect."

Pietro pet the wolf's shoulder. "May I tell them who you are?" She shook her head and made a soft sound, almost like a bark. Pietro nodded and grabbed Natasha's hand before he stepped back. The Avengers watched as the wolf became enveloped by a soft light. When it faded, a girl stood in her face.

"Hello, my name is Selene Frostsong. I am an Elemental Shifter." The girl, Selene, spoke with an Irish accent.

Steve saw her outfit and quickly looked away. "Is that an appropriate top to wear around men?"

Everyone ignored him and continued watching her. "Ms. Frostsong?" Peter spoke from his place by Tony's side. "You're a Shifter. Is it only a wolf? Or can you transform into anything?

~Selene~
I smiled at him. "I'm not limited to a wolf, young man. I have many other forms." I let a ball of magic form in my hand. Changing between different types. "But I also have control of the elements." To demonstrate my abilities, and because I don't like him, I threw a few fireballs at the flying man's feet. He jumped up and down like he was doing a jig. "Dance fucker, dance! You know you never had a chance!" I sang as he danced. The others were on the ground in hysterics.

"I'll get you back, mutt. Nobody makes a fool of Tony Stark." I glared at him.

"Well, I just did. What are you going to do about it, Metal-Man?" Everyone laughed harder as the flying man, Tony, got angry.

After he was able to calm down and not laugh, the boy smiled brightly. His eyes shone with curiosity. "Will you show us some of your other forms?"

I chuckled, "Not today. But perhaps another day, if we meet again, I will show you."

Natasha looked at me and smiled. "Thank you for showing us your true form, Selene. Does this mean you'll let us take the twins home?" I looked away from her and transformed into my giant wolf form before taking off into the woods.

~No One~
Pietro and Wanda watched as Selene ran off. The Avengers had just loaded a still unconscious Hulk into the Quin-jet and took off. The twins cried and consoled one another. "We shouldn't leave her. She took care of us. She kept HYDRA away from us. It's wrong of us to abandon her, especially after everything." Wanda cried into Pietro's chest. He softly patted her back.

Natasha looked at them, "I know how you feel, Wanda. But we had a mission to rescue you two. The rules have always been, focus on the mission and nothing else." Wanda nodded, but then the twins remained silent the rest of the way home.

*Hey guys! At the beginning of the chapter is Victoria Moroles, who will be playing Selene. The outfit she had on when she shifted to her human form is above. Selene is a girl's name of greek origin meaning, the moon. So when she is addressed in other languages, her name becomes that language's word for 'moon'. I'm editing my Elemental Shifter series so that words in different languages will be written in the same way the language is scribed. Then I'll write the english lettering under the author's note. There's not really anything else to add. So, happy reading!*
