So sorry for the random disappearance, I moved back to Denmark and I'm still trying to get adjusted.

Also I just put up a new It book if anyone is interested, I need some requests for the book!

Enjoy my loves!

It started long ago, when your parents traded you as a slave to some stranger for some pigs and grain. You stayed with that strange man for a year and once you turned 7, he traded you for a horse.

Once again you were a slave, but this time you had the pleasure of being able to live in Kattegat, not on some random farm in the middle of nowhere.

As you grew, so did the city around you.

Your king disappeared, for a long time and this gave the people time to grow apart from him, not his sons though.

Everyone would go about their day, slowly starting to accept his disappearance. His sons refused, and every day they would talk of his return and how grand it would be. They also never forgot to bring up what would happen if he didn't, and who would be the best ruler out of all of them.

Many favored Bjorn as the next King once Queen Aslaug was to pass, or even Ubbe. Some thought of Hvitserk being a ruler, few of Sigurd and none to Ivar.

It wasn't something you could give much input into though, as the woman who owned you started to grow old and demanding, giving you more work each day.

It started as just feeding the animals, a simple job she no longer wanted to do. Then it went to washing the clothes and feeding the animals on top of your normal chores. Until one day, it went to everything. You cared for her constantly and did all the chores she was unable to do, and even though you did everything she asked, she still found ways to complain.

You grew tired of the nagging and the lack of simple freedom to walk around the city and get some air. You were stuck until she passed, finally having freedom as she granted that to you.

As her death grew closer you hardly left the house, carrying her to the table to eat, bathing her, helping her relieve herself and bringing her to be examined for her illnesses she was collecting.

She wouldn't allow you to put her in a cart so you carried her across the city when bringing her for help, and oh did she complain the whole time.

You were holding her too tight, walking too fast, now too slow, you were pulling her hair, bruising her arm. You wanted to drop her and let her crawl herself to the doctor, but your freedom would never come to you if you did, so you let her nag.

As you let her spend her time being examined, you finally got to roam the city. You had to buy some food from the market, but time away from the woman was freedom, so you weren't complaining.

Once you buy all the food you need, you head back to the small hut where she was, making sure to walk as slow as possible.

"Ah y/n." Her dry voice calls out to you, your head raises and you look at her. She had a smile on her face.

Something was wrong.

"Yes?" You ask softly and the sound of feet arriving outside the hut make you turn your head slightly.

"You're free darling." She says quickly and with little care. You whip your head around and quickly place the basket down beside her.

"Really? You mean it! Oh than-" You start, your heart beating faster than ever as you smile, until she cuts you off.

"Well, by free I mean someone else's slave." She remarks and then turns away from you.

Your face drops and you slowly back away as you feel your lips shake. You had maybe one more year until you were free, and now that was destroyed.
