So, lately I've been using Instagram a lot more than usual, and I wanted to address something that bothers me in an annoying way.

Grammar.

Nobody seems to know the differences between your and you're, then and than, and much and many.

I've seen the same thing here, as a matter of fact. As a direct result of this issue, I am posting a grammar lesson, because all of these errors bother me beyond belief.

Let's begin.

"Your"
possessive; Belongs to the person whom the speaker is addressing:
"Is this your watch?"
"Your house is very nice."

"You're"
noun+verb, contraction; You are:
"You're so pretty!"
"You're going to the game, right?"

"Then"
adverb; At that time or after that time:
"First we went to the mall, then we saw a movie."
"Then again, I really like pizza."

"Than"
preposition, conjunction; shows comparison between two nouns:
"I like this more than that."
"Your drawing is way better now than it was last month."
•
"Many"
adjective; large number of something that can be counted:
"There are too many people here."
"There are so many pens on my desk."
•
"Much"
adjective; a large number of something that cannot be counted:
"There is so much clutter."
"Much of the time, I feel grateful for basic luxuries."

"To"
preposition; motion from one place to another, to make a point:
"I drove to the school."
"In order to succeed, you must work."
•
"Too"
adverb; more than needed or wanted:
"There is too much homework."
"Too much sunlight can be bad for your health."

"There"
adverb; referring to location:
"My house is just over there."
"There it is!"
•
"Their"
adjective; referring to who something belongs to:
"Their ego was too bothersome."
"It was their new car."

"They're"
noun+verb, contraction; they are:
"They're so graceful."
"It's amazing that they're still friends."
