Chapter 2: Expanding the Anime Empire

"Ugh..." I whine. Thud!!! I fall out of bed. My blanket and pillows are everywhere and all I see are my mint green walls. Then my phone starts ringing. I sit up slowly, feeling for my phone. I turn it on to see that Lucy sent me something.

To: Hannah From: Lucy

Subject: <no subject>

We're all here by the 99 cents store. Waiting for you. Where are you?

I don't even bother to answer her. I slip on a pair of jeans ,a yellow t-shirt and a sweater. I run out the door trying not to wake my parents. I creep down the steps down to the kitchen. And open the fridge, to see that it is all leftovers. I lost my appetite. So I zoom out the door.

After ten minuets I'm there. My legs are melting and I'm about to die of starvation and thirst, but I'm there. We walk around shopping, eating, talking and creeping people out. Just a normal day.

"Hey, guys. There is an anime store. Look!" Lucy says running in circles. And yes, there was a anime store. It was huge. We run to the store. Well everyone else but me. But I finally get there. Shelves jam packed with some cosplay, manga, plushies, CDs, DVDs, and bags and accessories that all have to do with anime.

I go through the isles for the anime I like. Bleach, Fairy Tail, Naruto, Squid Girl.... Not the anime I want. I go to the T section, none. And then the W s.... Oh my flippin' goodness..... There is a whole section for the World God Only Knows!!! I call everyone else before I get a heart attack. We grab almost everything.

Shopping Montage!!! *Music starts playing and everyone is riding around in a cart.*

"Bro. Move. Your butt. Here. Before I get. A seizure. You will love this." Ren says to me. I peek over her shoulder to see what she was holding. It was a Shiori Shiomiya plushie.

I almost scream. I grab the plushie from her. "Dibs! I call her!" I laugh evilly running near the cash register with the rest of my World God Only Knows things. I payed the man at the register. And followed everyone out.

As we walk out the store I see a girl walk in the store. I was to busy hugging Shiori to notice. We sit at a table that is by the store. Lucy and Ren get up to get us smoothies.

Bessy stares at me. "What?" I ask looking away from Shiori for the first time ever since I got her.

"Shhh..." She says to me. "I'm looking over there." She points to the girl that went inside the store. She places her head on the table, squinting her eyes.

I slap her arm away. "Not polite to stare." I say feeling like a grownup.

She scoffs at me. "Since when did you care?" She grabs my face and turns my head around.

In the store I see a girl. She had a broom and has a skull pin and is wearing a---- Wait. I grab the plastic bag and take out my KamiNomi key chain with Elsie on it. I hold it up. "So? It is a girl dressing up as Elsie." I say. Bessy looks at me like I was stupid. "Why? You have something against Keima or Elsie?" I fake whine and cry. I was about to slap her head. But she grabbed it and placed it on the table. And mouthed the words, 'No. Shut your trap.'

Lucy and Ren come back. Lucy happily places the smoothies in front of us. Ren is standing there. "Oh yeah. Ren, there is a girl wearing an Elsie cosplay." I say sipping my strawberry fruit smoothie. Ren slams her smoothie hard on the table. Which made most of it go on my face.

She grabs hold of my shoulders. "Do you not know what this means?!" We all shake our heads in unison. Ren pulls out her chair and puts one leg on it. She points to the upward. "This means an amine lover is right under our noses. A new friend. That likes all the things we like. And maybe even better.... She might have devoted everything to anime and manga and became an Otaku!" We all look at her like she went mad. "An opportunity to have a new member! To expand our empire! Our empire that holds the key to our dear life." She says pretending to wipe a tear out of her eye. She gets down and points to me. "Are you with or against me?" I nod my head.

I grab Bessy's glasses and slowly pull them out and say "Mother of god."

She takes my drink out of my hand and marches near the girl. "Okay Hannah, whatever you do, keep calm and stay nice. Both of us." We walk nearer.

I stay calm like she said. but she is being stupid and is not listening to herself talk. Then she waves and yells, "Helloooooo soon-to-be-my-new-friend! Or should I say Elsie." The girl yelps and drops the manga she was reading and puts her broom in defence.

I push Ren away. "Sorry about that. I'm Hannah. And that scary lady was my friend Ren."

The girl lowers her broom. "Y-Yes. I-I'm Elsie. How do you know my name?"

But Ren would not stop flipping out. 'Wow! You even changed your name to Elsie. That is a devoted Otaku." I cover her mouth.

"Care to join us?" I ask politely while Ren is giving me a thumbs up.

"Ummm..." She looks around the store. "Well it wouldn't hurt if i stayed for a bit. But ,um, Ren is scaring me."

"So you have a brother, you came from Japan, and you never changed your name to Elsie." Lucy says. "Well you are a huge coincidence."

Elsie doesn't answer. She is too freaked and is staring at my Shiori plushie. She points to her, "Is that Shiori?" I nod my head. She slumps back down more scared out than ever.

'Where are you going to school for the time being? We go to the high school down the street."

Elsie lifts up her head and smiles. "My brother and I are going there too."
