Welcome to Loading, this is a side chapter that focuses on explaining various aspects of the Game to the audience ranging from Lore Chapters to Gameplay Systems. In today's chapter we'll be discussing two important factions in the world of Zerundus [The Kingdom of Ikdas] and [The Sultanate of Nalcuv].

[The Kingdom of Ikdas]

"We are the heirs of the North, from the Arctic Divide to the coasts of Frostharbor we are born to inherit the lands that have been blessed by Saint Yuuki Frostbearer. Should the Kingdom my ancestors have worked hard to create fall, it doesn't matter for as long as the Aquilans the heirs of Aquius, the First Aquilan King of Ikdas persists then the future ahead will be fine." – Queen Anastaia XII, the Last True Descendant of King Aquius I

The Kingdom of Ikdas traces their origins back to the creation of the Aquilans themselves. Once the Tians were a unified race, but after the last Tian King decided to split the title of King to his sons, a topic that will be covered later on but long story short it ended with Aquius and his followers went and settled down in Shivangard upon arrival they were guided by Saint Yuuki Frostbearer as he helped them form the City that would eventually become Winterhaven, the then capital of the Kingdom. And in turn, they vow to serve and worship The Frostbearer Saint as their patron with his Yotunian Falcon as their Symbol and in return, he had given them the sword that would be later known as Icetalon.

For many years they have been a thriving Nation, in terms of economy they were a known exporter of ores and metals from Frozen valleys of Valhalla as well as the Ironwood Lumber from the Forests of Beiras effectively making them rich with all the mines and lumber that they have exported and allowed them to import various goods from other Nations in Zerundus. But there is also a darker side in their prosperous and rich society.

In terms of Politics the Cities are rules by Jarls and would then be ruled by the King or Queen of Ikdas, it should be noted that they have a strained relationship with the Wolfskins as they have spent years being oppressed by the Aquilan leaders, something that the Wolfskin leaders do not forget easily but to present they have at the very least tolerated with a brief amount of suspicion while the Wolfskins harbor a similar feeling of distrust.

As around 0016 A.R. they have begun to use Slaves in the form of the Wolfskins who began to live in the same Region as they are in and for 40 years their lavish and wealthy lifestyle was wrought from the blood and sweat of the Wolfskins that resided and it wasn't long until they've chosen to revolt.

And at 0056 A.R. they finally did, leading to a revolutionary war that lasted for four years and to this day the Wolfskins and Aquilans still hold a bit of animosity over one another due to the events of the war.

But the Revolution had greatly affected the economy of the Kingdoms of Ikdas and this financial instability alongside with the full deforestation of the ancient Ironwood Forest and the drying up of the Valhallan Mines eventually led to the downfall of Ikdas.

And by 0067 A.R. a Mystic named Alpharion began to preach that they have been cursed by the Frostbearer Saint. Teaching them that the Frostbearer Saint have lost the favor of them due to the current status of the Nobility, this resulted in the Ikdian Revolution which ended with the battle of Winterhaven.

one knew what had happened during that event but one thing is for sure is that it resulted in the Great Frost that froze Winterhaven and it's surrounding cities into a tomb with the last survivor being Xeo Snowe, a general who eventually swore to restore the Kingdom of Ikdas into its former glory as well as to lift Frosthaven from its curse.

To this day Winterhaven remains frozen.

[The Sultanate of Nalcuv].

"Like the flames of St. Indoril our spirit is inextinguishable. Like the Iron from his Warhammer, our strength is unbreakable, in his name we ride out and strike down those that stand in our way." – Sultan Ozman V, the Last True Descendant of Sultan Austeri I

Much like the Kingdom of Ikdas, the Sultanate of Nalcuv traces their origins to the creation of the Austrians. Upon arriving at the desert region of Agnistone they were guided by St. Indoril Pyreburner and eventually led to the founding of the City of Drakeforge, the current Capital of Nalcuv. With his guidance, they were able to forge Nalcuv into a nation that prioritized knowledge and lore, especially in the arcane arts, even during the early days. As thanks, they revered him as their Patron even adopting his Vulkanian Salamander as the sigil of their Sultanate and was gifted the Sword known as Flameclaw.

Politically each city and fortress is led by a Vizir who is then led by the Sultan or Sultaness.

Eventually their thirst for knowledge that have been passed on through the aid of St. Indoril which culminated into the construction of the Arcane Library of Ottomia at 0044 A.R., where all things about Magic can be easily found there, and since then they have been visited by everyone from all walks of life to learn the contents.

In terms of the economy, however, Nalcuv is well known for their vineyards in calmer areas across Agnistone, through years of practice and discussions they have become master tradesmen. Something that even the Catclaws, who are natural statesmen and merchants, have earned the respect.

But as in most things, they too have a dark side that many discuss with hesitation.

Due to their increasing lust for Arcane Knowledge, the people of Nalcuv often resort to unethical means of acquiring knowledge in Magic. This resulted in experimentation to the populace, forbidden rituals, and even sacrifices. In their horror, the Sultans of Nalcuv often raid dozens of Arcane cults that practice such rites.

But in 0051 A.R. the Arcane Rebellion led by Jezia, a former Arcanist working at the Arcane Library of Ottomia but was discharged for initiating blood sacrifices in some bizarre attempt to summon the Pyreburner Saint, led a rebellion against the Sultanate which resulted in the battle of Prospero leading to the death of Jezia and the disappearance of Sultan Ozman V along with Flameclaw.

To this day the Sultanate is led by the Council of the Hearth, which was a gathering of the Vizirs who discuss what is the right course of action until the return of the Ozman V, but as time passes by the Sultanate of Nalcuv is declining with the constant loss of territory to the arrival of Marked One Factions who selfishly plunder the lands for their own greed.
